Thunderbird Club

In my book, it’s as good as any other song from that band or era, why not play it. I do draw the line at McArthur Park though. :roflmao:
HEY! HEY! I used to do that one back in 75-76(we had the instrumentation to pull it off: multi manual keyboard, trumpet, drums, and me).
Including that last note. I can still hit it-most days.

Anybody else working on adding to the setlist? When we're done with these, we'll have around 75 songs on tap:

All Right Now, Free
Rambling Gambling Man, Bob Seger
Never Been Any Reason, Head East
Good Times Bad Times, LED Zeppelin
The Breakup Song, The Greg Kihn Band
Turn The Page, Bob Seger
Smoking In The Boy's Room, Motley Crew
Have You Ever Seen The Rain, CCR
3 more ACDC songs
Cinnamon Girl, Neil Young,
Brown Sugar, Rolling Stones

Yeah, we're A Hard Rock, Classic Rock, Biker Rock, Dad Rock, 3 piece band :bassist::bassist::bassist:
Bikers like the ABB and Steppenwolf also…

All great songs!
Funny thing is, those songs are all about 50 years old and they still appeal to a large portion of the 25 and up crowd. Can you imagine being 25 years old and in a bar in the mid 1970’s and the band set list being all 50 year old songs from around 1925…

Doubt that would go over well.
Kinda speaks to the timeless well written and played music from the classic rock era 1965-1980.
so true, we didn’t wear Bing Crosby or Tony Bennet t-shirts when in our teens…

We occasionally get a smartarse request for it. Unlike some bands, we'll play the damn thing. We don't care-fills up a good seven minutes of set time
That's a legit request. People don't request what they don't like. That people request it says it's much loved. A smartarse request would be along the lines of "Rain Drops Keep Falling On My (empty) Head."

So you play the short version!

We used to get-in the 70s-way too many requests for "Tie a Yellow Ribbon".

Hey, hey, hey, I ❤️ McArthur's Park!!! Wouldn't play it at a gig though. We've never learned Freebird but at practice last week broke into, and finished Sweet Home Alabama. Surprisingly difficult for bass and drums to nail.
