Thunderbird Club

That's a serious mistake. I know a killer 77 y/o player who can keep up with the best of them. Even sings a little.;)
In this area, bass players are considered unnecessary(an 'extra' person to pay). Have the keyboardist(we don't have one)play left hand bass. The fact that I sing some leads makes it less work for the 2 guitarists. When we go out as 4, they-and I-alternate singing lead; if we're 3, guitarist and I alternate. Drummer sings some harmony.

But still can't adapt to anything other than Jazz? That's a serious con, and shows lack of adaptability.

Oh, he plays the rock songs OK if a little too 'laid back', but it's the 'jazz style' random kicks/accents that are weird. I guess I was really spoiled by the one guy I worked with offandon for 35+ years. He and I were in synch most of the time. Really great musician and person. RIP.

I s'pose I'm just venting a little frustration over relatively little things-both musically and otherwise. As it currently stands, we don't have another gig 'til 1/7, by which time I might be in a better frame of mind.
Or not.

The drummer is the one who books most of our gigs. He's lived in the area longest, has the contacts.
