Twinkie diet helps nutrition professor lose 27 pounds - CNN.com
[Soapbox] The ONLY thing that really matters for weight loss is expending more calories than you take in. In short, calorie counting works. Also, as you lose the excess weight, other health parameters move into normal ranges.
If following any of the numerous diet trends helps with losing weight, great. But in the end, the only thing that matters is calories in vs. calories out. [/Soapbox]
As a born Aussie - Vegemite is wonderful, Marmite is crap![]()
I was wondering if any of you use fuzz or overdrive/distortion pedals and if so which ones . Im considering getting a Big muff as theres a couple of songs we do that could use it . Just now Im using the second channel on my amp with the footswitch but its not great . Ive heard good things about the Darkglass kit but its pretty expensive and no stockists near where I live so I dont fancy buying blind sort of thing .
Just to show there is not unanimous love of Vegemite among Australians, I can't stand it and Marmite is even worse.

Being a virgin (yes there are some things I haven't tried!) to both Marmite and Vegemite can we get an explanation of the ingredients/process used to create these culinary delights from some of the Commonwealth members here.
Probably close, it's one of those things you either love or hate, I love it spread very thinly on toast, thick fresh bread toast with warm butterFrom Wikipedia: Vegemite is salty, slightly bitter, malty, and rich in umami – a glutamate similar in flavour to beef bouillon.
Those of you who are familiar with it, is that accurate? Might as well try haggis while you're at it!![]()

I will occasionally use an Electro Harmonix Deluxe Bass Muff pedal. It's got plenty of adjustment to find what you want. The Acoustic 360 preamp head has its own fuzz circuit, and that's outstanding, in a 1969 kind of way. I don't schlep that amp around near as much as another one that's got a "growl" circuit I don't like as much. And finally, the ToneHammer preamp pedal has a mild distortion circuit that I very rarely use. The Bass Muff gets the work on the rare occasions I want fuzz. Thing is that fuzz, like just about everything else bass related, is important to us but when you are playing for an audience, they hardly know the difference. If it does its part in the mix, it's good, and the specifics aren't near as important. The average person in the audience thinks we play guitar anyway. It's just a bigger guitar and they probably don't even notice the number of strings.I was wondering if any of you use fuzz or overdrive/distortion pedals and if so which ones . Gaelic barbarians? Ah, now I know where my ancestors probably came from before they landed in Appalachia. Whew! I was worried about that. Good thing is that when the end comes, it's people like me that will eat just about anything in a pinch who will survive. But don't make me eat Vegemite unless it's a serious pinch.More or less.
Haggis is nice. It's JUST a sausage. You don't eat the stomach casing (well we Orcadians don't - cannae speak for the Gaelic barbarians). Supermarket haggis often comes in a plastic casing anyway. People eat liver all the time. Don't think about the lungs ... and it's just meat which would otherwise be wasted. Should inly be eaten occasionally mind - it's not exactly diet food.

I have to put the whole lungs/stomach thing out my mind when I eat it. If you can find a happy place with that, then you're mostly just tasting the seasoning and oats. Least that's what I tell myself. At one of our pipeband after parade party/cookouts, they grilled some haggis and it was actually good. The grill effect gave it a whole new flavor dimension, still, not something I eagerly go after!![]()

Vegetarian haggis is nice too. Oats without the unmentionables.
