Thunderbird Club

Never seen this one before, so just checked out a YouTube vid, I'd say there's a lot of good tones in this one, with all those tweaking options.
I'm hoping. I've never been a distortion (artificial buzzsaw sound) guy (though Mel S. did it right), but a little push and breakup I do like. Nothing that will stand out, just fill in is what I'm hoping for. I spent a lot of time listening to reviews of several overdrive pedals and this seemed the most flexible. It seems their goal wasn't distortion or fuzz but more pushing a tube amp. But it seems it will do that if you want. I'm looking for subtle. First gear is kind of like a fliptop, 2 a Vox, 3 more SVT. Four is different and more along the lines of an ACC 360. That's how they have been described in a few places.

They are guitar pickups.
I bought one from fellow member @LarryV and yes the pickups are small guitar ones that I ultimately replaced with Thunderbuckers.

Speaking of Thunderbucker Ranch, does anyone know if Steve Soar retired? His site has been down. Thanks!

This Friday nights set lists for Bond Girl - 2 sets, 23 songs, 10 Bond songs, 3 'spy' songs, 2 full instrumentals/two partial instruments, one Doors song, one Bowie song and one new drummer.

Weather sez' clear that day... 'Bomb Cyclone'-fueled atmospheric river arrives later today... :bag:

Cherie must have a spectacular alto voice.

Great list. Only song missing is this.

Uuuggghhh I know I should keep my mouth shut but I just can't help myself. Y'all know the disdain I have for the pickguard on some Ernie Ball Basses. This hands down has to be one of the ugliest bass guitars ever !!! I don't care how great it sounds . Apologies in advance for any owners thereof

Designed by guys at BMW. As my car designer brother said, “atrocious.”

Yes, it appears that he has ceased production.

Expecting an new one of these Thurs. Clicked "watch" on a Reverb listing and the seller that I've bought strings from before sent me an offer of $203 (from $239). Seems like it does mild breakup and pushing of a tube amp really well. We'll see... Minus a regular guitar right now I'm hoping this might add a little texture to fill in a bit.

From Bass Gear Mag:
Jeff Genzler has been a very busy guy. After arguably one of the worst years for the usage of – and thus desire for, ostensibly – products that communicate an electric musician’s musings to large groups of people in a live setting since music became amplified, Genzler Amplification came out swinging in 2021 with the release of not only a brand-new series of bass speaker cabinets and a new amp channel-switching pedal, but also a first for the company: a uniquely designed and fully-featured effect pedal. As an interesting and fun note, the project was the fruit of a professional reuniting of Jeff Genzler and Andy Field (TB member!); the latter being the principal engineer during the Genz-Benz days, having since moved on to designing for MESA/Boogie®.

The 4 ON THE FLOOR™ Classic Bass Overdrive is clearly marketed as an (all-analog, true-bypass) overdrive pedal, but I’ve found it can be used in so many ways as to want for a broader category of description.
Genzler Amplification: 4 ON THE FLOOR Classic Bass Overdrive
Genzler and Andy Field are doing a series of bass pedals. Andy has Mesa’s/Gibson’s blessing for this venture. And it looks like Mesa may be getting out of the pedal game altogether after the last production run of the Subway 800+ pedal is done in the next few months.

Great list. Only song missing is this.

Thanks - I'll let Cherie know as she's the boss. There are a few songs in that category that we don't cover. At this point, we have 'enough' cool spy/Bond themed songs when people drink their 'shaken-not-stirred' vodka martini's - we are now wanting to become more danceable for obvious reasons ; people like to dance and have fun on a night out. We'll never be a full-on "party band", but more dance songs are the key to more shows.
