Uuuggghhh I know I should keep my mouth shut but I just can't help myself. Y'all know the disdain I have for the pickguard on some Ernie Ball Basses. This hands down has to be one of the ugliest bass guitars ever !!! I don't care how great it sounds . Apologies in advance for any owners thereof

Don't care for them personally, but it looks good in that finish.

Well it could have been worse…
The same bass in white with a tort guard would look absolutely like an unflushed toilet. :rollno:
On the bright side, I have played a few and they really are good sounding basses if you like an active bass.

Great set list! Not a bad song in the bunch (yes, I’m a bond fan).

Thanks G - since Cherie's resuming BG and getting a new drummer, we've been expanding beyond the Bond material with non-Bond more danceable songs. 'Never There' and 'Peter Gunn/Planet Claire' are examples.

But you might need to try various locations for the tug bar. Everything adds up to something. I think you should come up with a tug bar jig for testing.:smug: You would also have a cool song title to go with it. Who can't dance to "The Tug Bar Jig?" Bootie shaker and boot scooter if there ever was one.
should we start on tone difference with strap button placement?…..:D

On the bright side, it looks better than some of those.... I played on once. Tried for five minutes to get a good tone out of it and never touched one again. And, I'd much rather look at one of your tractor pics any day.

My friend Uwe ( Gibson Bass Book), has one of those and upon taking it apart found them to be a 6 pole guitar pickup - stock. I'm not saying it's a bad sounding bass, I think they used them in several of the custom color runs.
Ignorance void here. I'm guessing this was before Epi had Probuckers in some of their guitars? Those are supposedly really great sounding guitar pickups.

Expecting an new one of these Thurs. Clicked "watch" on a Reverb listing and the seller that I've bought strings from before sent me an offer of $203 (from $239). Seems like it does mild breakup and pushing of a tube amp really well. We'll see... Minus a regular guitar right now I'm hoping this might add a little texture to fill in a bit.

From Bass Gear Mag:
Jeff Genzler has been a very busy guy. After arguably one of the worst years for the usage of – and thus desire for, ostensibly – products that communicate an electric musician’s musings to large groups of people in a live setting since music became amplified, Genzler Amplification came out swinging in 2021 with the release of not only a brand-new series of bass speaker cabinets and a new amp channel-switching pedal, but also a first for the company: a uniquely designed and fully-featured effect pedal. As an interesting and fun note, the project was the fruit of a professional reuniting of Jeff Genzler and Andy Field (TB member!); the latter being the principal engineer during the Genz-Benz days, having since moved on to designing for MESA/Boogie®.

The 4 ON THE FLOOR™ Classic Bass Overdrive is clearly marketed as an (all-analog, true-bypass) overdrive pedal, but I’ve found it can be used in so many ways as to want for a broader category of description.

I replaced my original strap-pegs (safely stored in a box) with Dunlop Strap-Lob's on my '64 II - and the tone went from 10 to 11!

Never seen this one before, so just checked out a YouTube vid, I'd say there's a lot of good tones in this one, with all those tweaking options.
