Thunderbird Club

When I just started playing bass the guy that gave me my one lesson told me about SC. Went and bought School Days. Almost made me give up trying to play after hearing that.

Just the opposite for me, hearing a lot of the greats just kept my will power up.
I'm no where near having those capabilities.
But glad i at least made it to what ever level you wanna call me.
I at least consider it a step or 2 above not half bad. :)

I’m in tears every time I hear Neil sing this. I know some here aren’t fans. And that’s fine. But tell me this doesn’t resonate with you, even today.

The Needle and the Damage Done is from one of my all time favorite albums, bought it when new. Johnny Cash unfortunately was an off/on again speed freak until he died but Neil's talking about heroin which my youngest brother OD'ed on about twenty years ago, still miss him.

First time with the new project tonight went well. No vocals tonight. Just guitar, drums, bass. Next week we'll have vocals and get to work on writing some songs. Just ran through some covers tonight to get a feel for playing together.

Got to play through a kustom 200 the guitarist has. I've known a few people with them before but first time Ive used one. Didn't fiddle with knobs too much, just had to turn up the treble. Sounded pretty good.

Kustom's were the cat's meow about fifty years ago.

Have any of you Californians ever stopped in to see the world's longest lit light bulb in San Fransico?

The world's longest burning light bulb is located right here in Livermore! It was first installed at the fire department hose cart house on L Street in 1901.

Livermore, about 20 minutes from where I live. 122 years and ticking.

I've read about it before, I forgot whether it was something special or not, or just a thick tungsten filament, will report back!

Edit:

  • The Livermore Centennial Light, for example, is a hand-blown bulb with a patented coiled carbon filament. That’s a technological advancement during the bulb’s time that contributed to its ultra-prolonged lifespan. Meanwhile, the filament in the Mangum Light Bulb was so thick it looked like a baling wire.
Here's a few more.
