Almost done, just need the 3 point installed. These tokia bridges are awsome but it just looks wrong without the 3 point. Installed TB+ pups, kill switch, leather wrapped PG, side jack, flushmount straploks and headstock decal. Found a warlock case for the beast.

I'm a lefty, but learned righty from get go. Trying to use a pick with this act for close as possible tone. The pick is really alien to me, but whatever it takes to be as close to authenticate as possible. Here's my Frankenstein rigView attachment 1028449

I've used so many different amps, my GK 800rbs, ampeg SVP Poweramp+SVP pro pre, RBI pre, VT rack pre. I'm really loving the Heritage SVT into 2 8x10s plus I have a preamp that is the Spector Haz pre in a box for that sound. Gna get the ampeg SCR di as a back up.

You should be able to drown out a jet plane with that rig.

I used to have one of those Trace V-Type heads. I really liked that head.

Capo arrived. When I apply it to the 1st fret and hold down the 20th fret, a credit card thickness of plastic slides easily between the strings and the 8th/9th frets (only the very slightest resistance), with just enough pressure to hold it in place with the bass held in a normal playing position. That's about right yeah?

Sounds good to me, are you still getting the fret buzz up from the 12th?

Have decided that battery basses really are definitely not my thing.

If I got an active G&L, I'd probably just take out the battery and use passive mode only, with active position of the switch becoming essentially a mute.

And/Or give the truss rod a quarter turn to tighten and remove a little of the relief.

If you have some buzz 12-20, there might be a slight "ski jump" there. Meaning it's slightly higher 12-20, so raising the saddles will help alleviate the symptom

If you have a ski jump there, less relief (tightening the truss rod) may actually make the buzz increase.

Either way, I usually only make 1 adjustment a day if it's really close. Allows the wood time to settle. I also live at 20% humidity and an elevation of 6000' or 1800 meters. Nothing good happens to instruments here

Why are people on Craigslist, especially the pawnshops, asking SOOO much for China birds? Whoopie! More than new because it comes with a case! Guess I got lucky with mine, and it happened to be MIK, only asking $175 with bag and strap. What's with all these $250-350 askers for something that goes for $299-349 new with warranty?

I know the answer, I'm just venting. Guess I won't have a backup bird anytime soon.
