Thunderbird Club

It was sold by a guitar shop, so i really don't know what they were thinking, pretty amateur.
Anybody who wants this masterpiece is prepared to pay at least 2500$-3000$.
Anyway, it was sold within 24 hours, no surprise.

Very good condition, for 158000円 ~ 1353$
Still can't believe my luck...
and my financial situation :D

That is rather odd…

I used to have one of those. It's one of the few basses I never bonded with and subsequently offed. I liked the look and feel of the bass, and the QC was top notch. However, I found it's weak point to be the exact thing that everyone else raves about the bass - it's preamp. It does in fact deliver tons of tones but I found myself gravitating to the passive tone 90% of the time because it sounded so much better in the mix than any of the active settings. At the end of the day I found I could get equally good or better passive sounds from my Gibsons and better active sounds from my Alembics, Warwicks and Spectors. So off it went. YMMV.

Never played an L2500 but I do like my L2000 powered bass's passive tone also, and am one of those people who feel that pre/pu is what sets it apart and (at least for me) offers much useable tonal variety. We're all so fortunate to have so many choices of different passive and actives basses to personally choose from.

So with this diet, are you counting calories or can you eat what you want as long as you stick to the list and create a balanced meals set?

I eat what I want. When I am hungry. I never cheat on the list. I rarely eat in excess of 30 carbs a day. Learning to know that is part of the challenge and learning. Although significantly easier once a carb-driven appetite is under control. I never counted calories as they are not a good measure of nutrition. I did count macros once I plateaued around 230. I had to increase the amount of food I was eating in order to start losing weight again. Yes, I know that is counterintuitive to those that believe the first law of thermodynamics controls weight loss or gain, but it is biology not physics. Balance is tricky word. If one views the Food Pyramid or My Plate as balanced, then I haven't eaten a balanced meal in 5 years. If one views nutritional needs as balanced, the most of my meals are. For lunch, which was a fairly typical lunch for me, I had a salad with blue cheese dressing and no croutons, steamed broccoli with butte, and a 12 oz ribeye grilled mid-rare. I probably will have a very small dinner as I wont be very hungry. Tomorrow, it may flip around.

As a side note, this is after I've been at goal for almost 2 years and was not always the case. I ate 3 to 5 times a day during the process. There are lots of nuances that one learns about themselves over time. Like what are you domino foods-- meaning the ones you can't stop eating. For me, cashews are the worst.

I hope that helps. You can always PM me if you want to take this offline as well.

Have decided that battery basses really are definitely not my thing.

Regarding resale value....

The bass I am selling I have had a year. It was bought new although I don't know when it was actually made. I paid $AU1200 ($US900) for it. It is possibly the only one in Australia, if not one of a very few.

It is in pristine condition. It's with the original (nice) gig bag, an ABS plastic lockable hardshell case and a heavy duty leather strap fitted with Schaller straplocks.

The price is $AU900 ($US670) or near offer, and this includes free shipping within Australia. Is this reasonable? Basically $700 for the bass + $200 for case, strap, shipping. Or am I off here?

Hey I could live with a diet that included a steak and salad for lunch every day! I love proteins and veggies. I've always considered most carbs as just a filler on the plate anyway. Double my steak and eliminate my potato and I'm a happy camper.

Wine, coke and beer are another story. I don't find water or milk to be a substitute for those. Ice tea to a degree hits the spot but it just isn't the same to have an inch thick plate sized rib eye with a side plate of broccoli or mixed veggies and no wine.

Kat - I don't know the specifics of your bass so those prices may be ok but the used gear pricing methodology I use most is to to slightly undercut eBay and the big box stores (Guitar Center and Sam Ash in the USA) by about 10%. That has a tendency to create a quick sale and reduces the number of window lickers drooling on your instrument. If after a month goes by and there's no serious interest I've been known to go straight to a fire sale mode (30% or more off) for a weekend. If still no sale, it comes off the market and stays with me since I obviously appreciate it more than others.

Porridge (oats) for breakfast and apples through the day. Black tea and water only (have maybe one beer or wine a week if that).

Evening meal will be pasta or rice and vegetables, half the time with 100g-150g dead animal (I struggle with the ethics of meat and fish consumption).

Most people could do with increasing their fibre intake.

Ethics of meat and fish consumption according to me is to know it doesn't just come in a tray from the supermarket. I don't enjoy killing an animal and then dressing the carcass for butchering, but I have done it, so I know what's involved. Same with gutting a fish. Some people like doing that. I sure don't, but having done it, I don't feel so bad about eating dead animals.

The current price from US including shipping and import charges = $AU1370, so it's pretty much half price plus a bit extra for some quality accessories. I wouldn't be keen on shipping it without the case. I had one person contact me to ask if I have any of another Italia type for sale. The bloody cheek!

There are 3 watchers, suppose I need to be patient (hah! - easy to say when you're GASsing for an NRBird).

Yes and no... I do eat a few onions as flavoring and now that I am at goal a few carrots is OK too. Garlic is a requirement. I don't mention those in the basic criteria as the goal is avoid starchy root vegetables and I think onions, garlic, and the like are accessories and not main dishes. The actual list is quite detailed, but sometimes a good generalization suffices in the beginning.

I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and stacked on a heap of weight before I found out what the problem was. Went on a no bread, pasta, potato, rice and packaged breakfast cereals diet with 5kg hand curls and dropped 20kgs in about 9-12 months. That was about 6 years ago and since then I've plateaued and sort of bounce between 98-105kgs. At 5'7" (always stocky build, good peasant stock :)) that's too much still.
Obviously I relaxed the strict diet.
I will get strict again now. I'm aiming for
92kgs, then will shoot for 88kgs with 82kgs my ultimate goal.

Just wanted to say thanks again for sharing, I ordered the cookbook you mentioned in an earlier post - I'm looking forward to it.

Got proof of my 2012 Epiphone silver burst with 2014 Gibson TB plus pups. Probably going to sell it after my Gibson comes in.
