Doesn’t take a Thursday for my balls to be all in a knot :smug:

Supposedly, they're humbuckers.
Haven't tried them yet, haven't had a chance.
The alleged problem with the bass is the electronics, supposedly sounds like the battery's going dead, even with a good battery.
Another "for parts or not working" purchase :smug:

Sometimes it could be something very simple like a wire unsoldered. Should be easy to trouble-shoot.

Very true - this bass is literally new, all the plastic bits still on it, looks like it's not been opened up. The battery shows 9v+ on a measure-er, but it's a "Hi-Watt" that's "for transistor radios" and is "general purpose". Swapping that for a good high-energy battery is top of the list of trouble-shooting.

edit:
found this about the battery:
"The Hi Watt 9V battery is an affordable, reliable, dedicated low-power solution to provide sufficient energy to your circuit. Ideally used in circuits with low power consumption so that it can work for longer durations."

Battery Type: Zinc Carbon

sooooo.....probably not enough juice to run bass electronics, and not even alkaline? Definitely getting changed...

 Yeah. Anytime I get something with "High Energy" batt'ries, I immediately put in alkalines.

Anyone know a source for OEM VP 500k pots? Going to replace the bridge volume pot on the VP. Seems that is the likely culprit. The ones installed say made in Korea. I know I could go CTS but my OCD whispers in my ear that they all should be the same.
You could always scratch out CTS on the new one. Or. Get two CTS's.

I might have a spare Epiphone volume pot. I’ll look tonight. If I have one I’ll PM you to get your mailing address. No cost to you if I have one.
