In the early 1960’s when I was a little kid living in Granada Hills CA, one of our family friends was one of the Weinermobile drivers. I got to ride in it a couple of times, once with Little Oscar.

Very nice! I like the Charcoal Black finish.
One of the reasons I left the Fender world was because of the lack of humbucking options. This and their previously released (but unfortunately now discontinued) Modern Player Tele and Blacktop line up are all welcome additions in my book.
Can’t wait to hear your take on the new Jazz humbuckers vs your VP.

Handsome looking black matte J yah got there. SQR - in house Squier soapbox's? Do they sound different than standard J singles?

Supposedly, they're humbuckers.
Haven't tried them yet, haven't had a chance.
The alleged problem with the bass is the electronics, supposedly sounds like the battery's going dead, even with a good battery.
Another "for parts or not working" purchase :smug:

Fender active preamps are rarely my first choice in onboard amplification. Yank that momma out and slap in an Aggie, Darkglass, Audere, John East, or even a Spector Haz Clone and you’ll be light years ahead.

That was my thought - if it's not a simple fix, replace.

I'm in it cheap enough I could easily put in an excellent pre-amp, if needed.
