The PSs are nice and clear, but are more full/deeper sounding that Rotos.Any thoughts on the SIT Power Wounds Nickel versus the Power Steels? Are the nickels as full, but with less brightness?
I prefer 3 screws for the adjustability. Maybe they just decided it’s better and standardized on it. They are a quality product.Any Bart Tbird replacement pickups I have seen always had the 3 screw hole pattern instead of 2. The holes are more like the pattern on regular Epi soapbar pickups than Gibson, including Bicentennial models. I am not saying they never make/made them with 2 holes, but I have never seen them. Always thought it was odd.

At one point Bartolini did make pickups to directly replace post '88 Gibson types, when I bought the '76 that I eventually restored and had painted green it had one in it - I later sent it to Baz Cooper.
Until I get around to refinishing my stripped natural refin '66 Thunderbird IV I did a quick couple coats of black because I couldn't stand looking at the bare veener I put on the top of the headstock. In the spring I'll most likely finish the bass Cardinal Red. View attachment 4948716 View attachment 4948717 View attachment 4948718 View attachment 4948719

The bass has been through multiple refins with some rather aggressive sanding. The bass came to a well done headstock repair but there was so little mass left just north of the nut and the headstock itself was about 1/8" shy of how thick it should be I put a aprox 3/32" veneer on the top as that's were most of the material was missing. I may be adding another 1/16" on the back when refin time comes. Is the veneer the result of a hs repair?
The grammar police are out in full force today.

That was Spelling Cop, not Grammar Cop.
......... Just not sure where I would put them at the moment.

You are good. Really good. The easiest, most obvious (and around these parts, most correct) answer is:
You need to buy another Thunderbird

My first solid state head was a sunn O))) Concert bass.Soon to be on the VP, but not until I get some DI recordings with the stock rounds and then with the SIT Power Flats. I might throw in the CP with EBCF just for fun. All at the request of our resident alien.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before someone suggested the only logical solution. The easiest, most obvious (and around these parts, most correct) answer is:
You need to buy another Thunderbird

Funny looks nothing like mine. How'd you get it so smooth? Must have taken a lot of buffing.
Love that kitty!
Attila is quite a name!
