That whole thing enclosing bridge & pup ?

Look forward to hear that. Don't recall hearing them while knowing they are Barts.

I am, Friday, June 22nd, 1962 :).
Kept my mother awake 'till 4:35, I believe. Those days, in our hospitals, they drugged pregnant women out of their minds, so they had fun running after her in the corridors...Mom was a pistol. Miss her so much.

I'm a few months older, Jan 12 1962 - which was also a Friday. I don’t know the exact time but Dad used to always crack that I was “right on time for lunch” so I’m guessing circa 11am 11:30am. Evidently I’ve never been late to a feed ever since. Mum died quite young, at 48yo, back in 1980. That was a shock. Dad got through to 2005. He was a widower longer than they were married, sad.

I get the shock part. When mine passed, I was physically sick for a whole week after the service and I'm that guy who never gets sick.

Well, that makes three '62s then. Vintage year. Highly collectible. I snuck in at the end of the year.

A very way belated Happy Bday Geoff. :)

I measured the Barts and they matched chrome Tbird pickups in length and width.

The plastic Tbird pickups are wider and longer:

Epiphone soapbars are narrower and longer:

If I was going to install Barts in an Epiphone Tbird IV, I would get a set of chrome Tbird trim rings. They appear to cover the longer route - just:

The rings just barely cover the route on an Epi Bird. I was sweating getting the alignment wrong and having a gap showing when I was finished, but I was able to get them just right. FWIW there are humbucker sized TB Plus pickups (From an LP Standard Bass, Money Bass, etc) in the cans rather than typical TB Plus pickups. Nice and mean sounding. This picture also shows how badly the clearcoat is cracking. Chose the wrong clearcoat so one day I need to refinish this one again.

Lot's of Caps here!

I recorded a clip of my J with the Chinabucker:
DJB SCD clip JwCB 0126 23.mp3

And then with the Bartolini Neck PU:
DJB SCD clip JwBart 0126 23.mp3

I did my best to keep all else equal. The blend pot was on all neck PU. Strings are SIT Power steels. Its through my PF50T with the Transformer DI output into the Focusrite.
The Bart has a deeper and more smooth or refined sound. The CBs are more raw and on a recording don't seem to have the same lows. But amps have knobs and live I suspect they sound bigger. I like the CBs better, but the Barts don't sound bad by any means.
