Thunderbird Club

Mine was silver w/ a black top. I had it painted Emberglow. Looked great until I was hitandrunned one night. Never caught the other driver; car was never right after that. Traded it for a "baby :poop: brown" 63 Volvo PV544.

Those PV544's were vintage-y cool  ... I had a '66 122s Estate Wagon (bought in '76) - my favorite car I've owned.

stock photo - but just like mine other than mine having a factory 'deluxe' roof rack.

I finally got the Bach!

I met up with my friend George @GBassNorth earlier today who was parting ways with his Bach Thunderbird II. He didn’t gel with it, but he wanted to make sure it remained in the family. We “did the deal” in the parking lot at the bank. Things have been too crazy for me to visit his amazing bass room, so we met halfway for each of us.

I had to scurry back for a wood delivery at the mountain house, so our meeting was unfortunately brief. I owe him and his wife a lunch.

So here she is:

It’s in very good to excellent condition. A couple of minor scratches and a couple dings on the top of the headstock. Legend has it the Scott @godofthunder59 was a prior owner so that’s likely where the top of the headstock dings happened.

I’ll post more on this as I get to know her.
You’re officially in the BaCH Bunch now!
It was a great bass but I’ve come to the conclusion that playing a IV is what feels at home to me. You can thank Scott and Veronica for wisely talking me out of routing a second pup in a rare bass, and instead passing it on to someone who can enjoy it more than me. Maybe someday I’ll find a BaCH IV, until then I’ll get by with my other NR birds. This one couldn’t have gone to a nicer person. Rock it in good health!

Top down/heater on? That's the way I drove my 62 Impala the first warm-ish day of "spring" when I was stationed in Charleston, SC.
I drove my Miata with the top down unless it was raining, heat or A/C as needed. My daughter and I got some looks driving it that way in 20-something degree weather with snow on the ground!

Congratulations! Yep that's one of mine, one of the twins as I had two black ones. It's a great bass I hope you enjoy it. It ain't a Thunderbird without multiple headstock dings. ;)

My first car was a '61 2 door bubbletop Impala except mine was green (bubbletops had no overhang over the back window), it was a 283 so it didn't go but it was a nice car.

I wanted a 4 speed Roadrunner and since my father was co-signing a loan he said fahgettaboudit!

My father owns a 1964 Impala SS, convertible, 327, 2(!) speed powerglide automatic. Still in original pale yellow paint with black top, black interior. He bought it new in late ‘64.

I would prefer a ‘65 SS, not convertible, as that would be my favorite Impala body style.

What breed is he? Maine Coon?

I got him in June 2019 from the local Humane Society as a 3month old kitten. We did an animal DNA thing and while he looks like a Maine Coon, and he does have some percentage of that in him he’s got more of Ragdoll and a few other things I can’t recall. Clearly the Maine Coon part is how he got his coloring. And he’s barely what I’d call a long hair cat. I didn't think, when he was a kitten, that he would have long hair, but now we just love his long’ish hair and beautiful long bushy tail.
