Thunderbird Club

Maybe. But why then is it just Epiphone making this model instead of Gibson?

Cause honestly, I already liked the Epi T-birds more than the Gibson ones (recent, obviously).
Because they will make more money with an Epiphone that retails for $995 while being produced in Korea or China...

The new Embassy they are releasing this summer. With 2 x 2 headstock and elongated upper horn for better balance.
Technically it is a Thunderbird so why not post it here as well ;-)

Thank goodness it doesn't have the hugely cool batwing headstock the originals had or I would have had to be buying two new basses when they become available in Australia, it goes without saying that one of those TBirds in white will be joining the flock. I wonder if they are the EY Chinabuckers in those basses? I had seen some discussion that EY had said something about supplying them to Gibson.

I have a baaaaad feeling I would like that!

If I find that these are supplied by China I may choose to re-think my desires, have to put this in the wait-and-see category.

Chinabuckers come from Heilongjiang in north China which is close to the Epi factory. So yeah, probably.

Think this could be great, or a disaster. They need to make this right, not out of Chinese pot metal and junk wiring. Wonder what the price point is going to be? I am guessing about 700$

The Chinese Epi factory produces excellent value gear. This will replace the Classic Pro so quality should be equivalent in quality and approximate price IMO.
