Very true . Id read that a few countries including the US and UK have petitioned to have the law change for the use of fretboard material .

I'm sure it's not an issue for Epiphone, they'll have all of that sorted out. Custom builders, on the other hand, may have to dance through many hoops. An ebony fingerboard would be nice. What's the weight difference? @Dadagoboi?

Have any of you seen the new Dingwall birds ? Man they are gorgeous .

A shot got posted here about two months back, it's very nice - mixed thought from some regarding the headstock and PG shape.

Im really surprised with the new CITES clampdown on Rosewood , that they never used Ebony for the board as this will be an issue in many countries if exported .

Apparently African blackwood is soon to be, if not already, on the CITES list as well. Will need a certificate now to travel outside the country with my non-ivory bagpipes.

A few ounces and around $100 but I imagine it will drive the price up. Ebony on wenge...

They have changed a couple of things on them . It was just posted on FB yesterday the news of the new , new ones . The plate is wooden and looks similar in shape to the normal Gibson type . The headstock is more gibson inspired but 2 a side tuners , and Hipshot rail bridge .
