" I really do have plenty of basses and don't need another one.

There, I said it.

I'm not convinced how much of it I mean, but I said it nonetheless!"

Somehow, I have the feeling this is going to bite you in the butt, probably sooner than later! :D

I'll see what I can do, Ken. I'll try to remember to record something when I'm at church (with my iPad). If bold enough, I might record a song to confirm my very average abilities demonstrating why tone matters so much to me!
I think the best demos are not ones where people are trying to show off their skill, but simple riffs to demonstrate the subject at hand.

It is purrrdy, but that's my least favorite body shape in terms of comfort of playing. Maybe run across one even more dirt cheap one day. There's always the whole $$$ thing. Not to mention, I really do have plenty of basses and don't need another one.

Maybe one day you'll believe it!

Sweet looking bicentennial on Reverb. The prices of these apparently gone up a bunch since I last looked a couple of years ago…
Gibson Bicentennial Thunderbird 1977 - Alpine White w/ OHC | Reverb

Mine is in better condition, and if "These seem to be going close to $10k," mine is for sale to anyone here for the discount price of $7k! For $9k I'll deliver it personally.

Not to worry there. This will be great because there will be no showing off any skill....

But you are correct about such demos. Very irritating at times when you are honestly seeking information about X and they are demoing talent or a bass no one has ever heard before.

I like my Embassy, but I kinda wish these had come out sooner. Oh, well. LSTYD.
Dunno about the "orange", though.:jawdrop:

If you bought from GC IIRC you 45 days to return, no questions asked.

This^^ If you aren't in love with the current version, why not try an exchange? Short scale seems to be a benefit at some of the places you play.

So I'm off the amp high and decided to live with my little TC Electronics 500 watt head. On the other hand I'm buying a new 215 cabinet. I put it in the cart and put it aside to think it over. Then I got a text saying take another 10% off. Shoot do I need it ? No but *** .
2x15 Bass Guitar Speaker Cabinet. Now my question ( and I know I should know this) if I go Amp into cabinet into another cabinet is that series or parallel?
I'm giving my old GK115 to a buddy.

I honestly have no idea how this happened, I went to this thrift store I frequent and the guy goes "Walter, do I have a deal for you!"

Before presenting me with THIS.
Bouzouki.jpg

He told me that it was a consignment piece and the guy selling it wanted 40 Euros for it.

That means that it has issues, and the guy goes, "The pin where you hook up the octave string for the low G has broken off." So either you replace the tailpiece or play with only seven strings and when it was plugged in there apparently was no sound.

I debated for over two seconds and took it home with me. Plugged it in and it works just fine.

So what did I buy exactly?

Yeah, I got a 229 Euros discount here.

Crazy, right?

Cool! I think they have different tuning compared to the Greek Bouzouki

What looks like one of the anniversary? models - the gold ones - showed up in Ian's shopping vid, starting at 8:52

It's apparently at a place called Willie's American Guitars in St. Paul, MN, if any of you need to have one ;)

:)

I had a white one from that time. I put a mirror pick guard on it. It was really nice looking.

Everyone well remembers my struggles with the '06 Gibson and getting it to sound really good to my ears. I used it tonight along with the Genzler and it sounded amazing. The La Bella's recommended by Chuck made it sound really good, to the point I was very happy with it. But whatever the Genzler adds really fills in a little something and takes it to the, "Man, this thing sounds great" level. It's always played as well as my '64, and now it is simply sweet sounding. It was great with fingers or pick. Just a joy to listen to.

That’s a case where enabling here really worked out in the end. That is a cool Thunderbird.
