Same here. I'm so anal about it I find myself biting my tongue when I see someone, usually a guitarist, just doing a straight plug in... "But you might step on your..."!

I know that feeling... It's the same feeling I get, when I either see strings wound the wrong way round a tuner, or people who don't cut their strings and leave them sticking out in all directions...

I used to keep my E uncut years ago to impale a ciggy on rather than keep it in my mouth to stop the smoke getting in my eyes

Yes, agreed. Definitely dislike the pup rings and the switches, I have a BC Rich Mockingbird with all those active switches that I don't use so I too could do
without those. Beyond that, I like the color and the Explorer headstock is cool.

Agree on the pup rings! Actually I've never really been fond of the looks of the split P layout on a TBird much less two of them and much much less surrounded by needlessly gaudy trim rings. Just give me a single or dual Humbucker covered in chrome (or not) and I'm happy! I can even live with the enigma machine switching gear as long as everything has a purpose although I think less is more when gigging.
