How's your new singer working out?

She's doing great, very enthusiastic and she can really belt it out too - We recently added "Breaking the Law" by Judas Priest and she utterly nails it.

Sweeeeeet!

Very nice playing, and an awesome Tbird, Thanks for posting!
What bass strings do you have on yours?
Thank U so much! This bass is an unicorn here in Spain, everybody’s here is using fender and european/japanese basses, so when I saw this here in a store from Madrid I went all in for it, in cherry color a non reverse it’s perfect and the tone dude, the store employers all of them come to the unboxing to see it, they never seen a thunderbird before, and when they hear it in an ampeg from the store, they were with poker face saying, we never expect this bass has that tone lol. What a moment.

By the way the strings are the DR Strings Pure Bass medium standard ones 45-105.
Have a nice day!

Great! And congratulations! The new NR’s are truly wonderful basses. Versatile tone from what IMO are very nice pickups. As your vid shows. Nice playing.
Thank you! So much appreciated you noticed the dark vintage tone, I played with an EQ and only a bit of compression the rest of sound it’s the bass itself :) both pickups all up and tone went off hehe

Nice! In One Way or Another do you get to do the "where I can see it all find out who you call" line?

Our key player gets that line, while I do some backup vocals on some songs I really can't sing very well - I do enjoy it though.

Not to beat a dead horse..but I’ve gone this far.
My Sparkling Burgundy tuner issue is over as far as me,Gibson and Sweetwater are concerned.
After several weeks of waiting for the second try to get the correct tuner replacements for my 23 NR.Gibson sent the correct tuners but no ferrules came with them. I explained to my SW rep that this is just like a nut and bolt. If one part, male or female is stripped the unit as a whole will not work.
SW was appalled (again) I made them an offer to buy the parts and fix it myself.
SW put back $318.00 onto my credit card for tuners and general hassle.
I’m still amazed that Gibson couldn’t get it right.

Anyway..as I have said before, these things happen to me all the time.No big deal.
Sweetwater stepped up to the plate after trying their best with the other company and made things right on my end.

I'm glad it's over, but this was the sentence that made no sense: "I’m still amazed that Gibson couldn’t get it right." We are talking Gibson here! Logic doesn't seem to be much of a qualification in the hiring process (at times anyway).

I have used the Pure Blues on my JC (and they sound great on that bass). But My Thunderbirds like RS66.*

* I still haven't joined the SIT cult.

As you know down here in the south we have a saying. “Bless your heart”
And it doesn’t mean what the words say.

I think this sign that hangs in my office says what I think of Gibson and their recovery team.

So Gibson... Bless your heart. :)

Hmmmm. That might explain the strip search when the Customs and Immigration officer called me over and I said "bless your heart"...

I was born down south on a chicken[2] farm
Near Nashville, Tennessee.
T'weren't nobody there
But a sky full of air,
Seventeen billions chickens and me!

And then one day
I said, "Hey, hey, hey!"
Think I'll do a little LSD[1].
It blew my mind,
I got real kind,
And I set my chickens free!

There were chickens in the cabbages,
Chickens in the cord,
Chickens in the cauliflower,
Chickens in the barn.
There were chickens driving Cadillacs
To Washington, DC
When I set my chickens free!

(I read that poem in high school in Abbie Hoffman's "Steal This Book"[3] and remember it to this day.)

[1] Dear mods, DEA, etc. This is in no way an endorsement of illegal drugs.
[2] Just assume that "chicken" here is a metaphor for "Thunderbird". I wish I had seventeen billion Thunderbirds, although I would prefer they were not piled atop me.
[3] There's a funny story associated with that book.

I like that, kind of true to life too. Abby's younger brother, Jack used to manage one of my bands, nice guy, I met Abby once, he had just come back from his 'run'. He was a Worcester, Mass boy.
