Same here, when The earlier Beatle CD's were first released it was the British sequence which was of course what they wanted but it took me a long tie to get used to them, I still like the U.S. versions though.

I remember when cassettes came out and expecting the click of the track change at certain points in songs for albums I had on the wonderful 8-Track tapes.

They made a guitar version but apparently not a bass. Mostly Fender-style.

Maybe it's one of these - funny name "Meriken" - like slang for American

The images on the Facebook page make me believe they did make bass versions. Someone posted what potentially is the model number: Thunderbird copy SD-380

The majority of their basses were definitely Fender "inspired".

For a little while I thought that first song was The Masters Apprentices 1970 song and was amazed that it travelled outside of Aus & NZ (a& maybe UK at a stretch). But that was Turn Up Your Radio. I did, every time it was played. It is dated by “15 years and you remember how” in reference to the start of rock n roll in 1955.

I do that all the time...... it's one of the reasons I like Spotify so much.
I can just play the whole album!

Yeah happens to me on a few tracks.
Mostly Skyhooks Ego is not a Dirty Word which should be followed by Love on The Radio which starts with some effects that sound like searching between radio stations and a faux radio announcer doing a station ID announcement “even granny tunes her little tranny to 3FQ”. Of course many young teenagers in the day would recite along but change out tranny with fanny. (Yes not the same as the US fanny). How daring

Status Quo Backwater which ends on a drum solo which starts Just Take Me. When it’s played by itself (say on random select) it just finishes with the drum solo. Very disappointing.

Yes indeed. I wanted to run Ramble on right after Heartbreaker and Live in so that it would be just like the record. The guys wanted to split it up.
Am I the only one that hears a song on the radio and at the end of the tune my brain automatically goes to the next song on that particular album?

Nope. I do that with all Beatles albums (UK and American so my brain gets confused), all Yes, all Bowie, all Springsteen, and most Neil (he has way too many albums) and…..countless others.

I hated 8 tracks and traded mine for an old console radio but was skeptical of cassettes when they first came out because they run so slowly, but they managed to make them sound a lot better than 8 track tapes eventually.

Something made me think of the Elvis Costello album, Arm Forces from 1979 last night and I could hear the songs in my mind just like I had played it yesterday.

When All in the Family came out - I felt like it was Dad and Mom. So very similar.

I won't deny that he beat me for a good reason. It just could have been less bloodthirsty. Mom always said he was beat by his father, and so it instilled this evil in him, which he then took out on me. Mom, being the Edith Bunker, mostly stayed out of the way. One day I managed to push her missile launch button - and she flung an empty saucepan at me. I made my Dexterity save, and dodged a blow to the head! I couldn't believe it!

One morning before school, I just wanted a bowl of cold cereal. Dad made oatmeal with lots of raisins in it. No cinnamon - just a big box of raisins. I was not fancying it. I made some comment, which drew his wrath. Pulled me out of the chair and whipped my behind with his belt. Dammit... on a school day... and I rode my bike to school.

I decided I'd had enough discipline, and upon leaving for school, I went the opposite direction. Rage quit. To Hollywood. My pal rode with me as wingman, but only part way, and he went back home. He did manage to talk some sense into me about preparations, etc. I got to Hollywood... checked out the comic book stores... and then got hungry. I had my meager lunch money - which would not buy you anything out in the real world. And like my pal said "Where will you sleep?" the reality of it all hit me. I was a runaway kid on the streets of Hollywood. So, tail between my legs, I headed all the way back home... and it was almost dusk.

School had called home to report me as truant. I forgot that would happen. So, I got whipped for that, and sent to bed without dinner. Suckiest day ever.

That sounds so horrible! So sorry you went through that.

Even worse is separating Waitin' for the Bus and Jesus Just Left Chicago.

Interesting that the Meriken is medium scale. There were a couple of Fernandes Bird models that were medium scale as well. Not a common scale length for Birds but probably does help reduce neck dive on models with large headstocks.

Just for giggles, I looked on Reverb right now, and there's one for sale. There's also a Meriken EB-2 copy that looks pretty nice. Both say they are made by Samick, which means they should be pretty well made.

This is what makes a set of disparate material interesting. My band The Sean Conneries concept is deliberately 'potpourri' - similar to a 'shuffle' mode. In fact, we use "Eccentric Pop-Rock Potpourri" as our by-line. So where it succeeds or fails is up to what follows what. Tempo changes, mood changes, genre changes, style changes... if done well offering an unpredictable set of fun music. I've always felt that arranging/ordering a set is critical to delivering each song in its best possible light. And it's fun figuring and testing that out.

I managed to watch most of your Winters set (thanks for posting!) and really enjoyed all those changes you guys do.
