I am just a couple years young for Slade the first time around. I remember the spelling of their songs titles from the KTel TV ads mainly.
But about 10 or 15 years ago a mate loaned me a greatest hits cd and I really liked it. I remembered songs that I never knew I knew!

21/25 of the world's most venomous snakes are in found in Australia. Locally, we have 8 or 9 of those 21.

Funny coincidence, the Mrs went outside to some young guys yahooing around outside our house. She opened the front door just as they came up to it and they had a snake with them. Asked all innocent 'is this your snake?'. They reckon they found it in our yard and asked if she wanted it as a pet.
She put on her 'teacher voice' and sent them away with a flea in their ear.

The big news of my day is I've handed in my notice at work, two reasons, one being I hate the effin place and the second is mum is beginning to need more looking after during the day so it make sense at least. Bit of a bummer with the prospect of being skint but life sometimes is just too short to worry about these things and who knows what may turn up. After years of dodging the housework it looks as if the excuses have finally run out...Cluck!

Maybe I'll make a bass or two and try and flog them?

Plenty of room in the control cavity - The cavity is routed for 5 pots, so if you move the output jack to the side, fitting a switch or two should be no problem.

I am not a fan of moving output jacks, but perhaps a mini toggle would fit. In general, I try to have any and all mods be reversible and new holes prevent that. Just me, I know an epiphone bird is not likely to become a valuable vintage instrument in the future, but hey you never know.

See them once in a while 2nd hand locally, and think the look kinda nice with the matching headstock, and have been considering one in white/silver if the price is right.

avoid the later models with the OLP logo that is clearly O L P. The early ones were better, aside from the string tree being too tall to be effective if your strings are cut too short to wrap all the way down the post. The logo where the L goes between the OP, which many mistook to be GP back then, is the one to get, though I am sure there are some good specimins of later models.

Ah Toronto, the home of Neil Young and TPOH. Disco doesn't necessarily suck - it depends...

There are some disco that I could see incorporating into a song, otherwise I don't care for it much.

toronto is also home to RUSH, many of their songs are derived from Toronto, Lakeside Park being the strongest.

Understanding the words isn't really that important.


If the radio is on, it's usually set to the classical station. I like the stuff on there a lot more consistently than with anything else. If I don't like something on there, I switch to NPR. They have cool stuff sometimes.


Fargo, the movie, is funny partly for the accents.

My dad didn't like the music I listened to when I was a teenager, but he just told me to turn it down, and otherwise didn't care, as he was well aware that his own parents hadn't liked his music when he was a teenager, either.


Yep. I prefer moving my 2x15 around to my single 15" cab. The big cab has wheels and is easy to roll around.

I can only remember two things I was ever banned from buying listening to in the house and this was by my mother. The Woodstock album because of Country Joe Fish's "Fish" Cheer... "Gimme an F!" "Gimme a U!" etc. I badly wanted the album because of the The Who's See Me, Feel Me (I was an insane Who fan at the time). Stupid naive kid that I was, never dawned on me to buy the album, stash it with the rest of my albums and just play the Who's cut! Eventually the lightbulb went on and voila! The second was Bloodrock's D.O.A. song about a car accident, was too spooky for her so I was forbidden to buy it. So I bought it and my little snitch brother ratted me out a couple days later and my mother then broke the record to punish me. Parents! I've never done that to my kids although... having two teenage daughters in the mid-90's devoted to NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, I was sorely tempted!

Lakeside Park is actually in St. Catherines (close to Niagara Falls), where Neil lived as a child/young adult. But there is plenty of Toronto sprinkled through the songs. Spirit of Radio takes it's name from a Radio station (CFNY 102.1).

Proof that everything in Oz really is trying to kill you. This doesn't even include the killer frogs, killer lizards, killer marsupials, kangaroos who want to kick your lights out, things you step on in the water that kill you, sharks, ... what did I miss?

He was happily married to Iman for a very long time. If that's what happens when you are gender fluid, sign me up!

Sorry to hear about your mom but it is nice that you are willing to step in and care for her. She is lucky to have you there for her.

You can move the jack to the end and a mini-toggle would work to cover the current input jack hole. But if you are bothered by drilling new holes, then that is probably not the path for you. Odds are probably against the Epi's ever being collectible but you never know. I did move the jack on my Goth and have no regrets. Of course the jack had been yanked out of the face of it so there was that.
