Proof that everything in Oz really is trying to kill you. This doesn't even include the killer frogs, killer lizards, killer marsupials, kangaroos who want to kick your lights out, things you step on in the water that kill you, sharks, ... what did I miss?

The frogs and lizards aren't a worry. You missed the spiders and crocodiles.
Actually, they reckon more people die from Honey Bee stings than any other animal attack.

I am not a fan of moving output jacks, but perhaps a mini toggle would fit. In general, I try to have any and all mods be reversible and new holes prevent that. Just me, I know an epiphone bird is not likely to become a valuable vintage instrument in the future, but hey you never know.

avoid the later models with the OLP logo that is clearly O L P. The early ones were better, aside from the string tree being too tall to be effective if your strings are cut too short to wrap all the way down the post. The logo where the L goes between the OP, which many mistook to be GP back then, is the one to get, though I am sure there are some good specimins of later models.

Several jellyfish that will kill you, as well as a poisonous octopus...

I left out the jellyfish and our cute little octopus because I put them under things that you step on in the water.
Interestingly, a couple of the jellyfish have been recorded this summer much further south than thought before and the crocodiles are being sighted considerably further south than has been the case in the past.

Thinks it is someone's pet carpetsnake or similar.

Quite a recent version (Bowie at the Beeb), because it has better sound quality and features the original soloist (Slick). If GAD had had the foresight to play a Bird it would have been perfect.



Station to Station is the album he claimed he had no memory of making, he was so out of his head - 'one day I blew my nose and half my brain fell out'.

Damn, what I should have said was 'i'll happily listen to anything but opera, musicals and prog'. But that's okay, it's a long way from the Mid West to Australia, so you're quite safe.

I never said disco album, i shidder to even say the words. But I could see borrowing a lick or two and making it my own in a song. Think about a shift mid song that might have a similar rhythm to some disco song then shift back.

I can only remember two things I was ever banned from buying listening to in the house and this was by my mother. The Woodstock album because of Country Joe Fish's "Fish" Cheer... "Gimme an F!" "Gimme a U!" etc. I badly wanted the album because of the The Who's See Me, Feel Me (I was an insane Who fan at the time). Stupid naive kid that I was, never dawned on me to buy the album, stash it with the rest of my albums and just play the Who's cut! Eventually the lightbulb went on and voila! The second was Bloodrock's D.O.A. song about a car accident, was too spooky for her so I was forbidden to buy it. So I bought it and my little snitch brother ratted me out a couple days later and my mother then broke the record to punish me. Parents! I've never done that to my kids although... having two teenage daughters in the mid-90's devoted to NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, I was sorely tempted!

My parents just told me to listen quieter or through headphones to the stuff they most disliked. They'd never destroy something of mine, let alone something I'd bought myself with my own money.

One of my other long time personal interests has been the study of insects (almost 50 years). I have published new species descriptions, life histories, taxonomic changes, range extensions etc and am referenced in the major books on Australian butterflies and beetles.
For the last three years I have been observing specimens of a small butterfly locally (Southern Qld). Prior to that the southern limit of this small tropical butterfly was 1000K to my north. It is now breeding almost continuously on my property. This same species has since been recorded another 150 k south of here.
Colleagues further south in NSW are reporting other species that previously weren't known south of Qld.
There have been a number of more one off encounters with other tropical butterflies well south of their generally accepted range in recent years.

I can report that the Neutrik RA silent plugs work exactly as advertised - they are indeed silent when connecting/disconnecting an instrument. The only gotcha - after soldering the first connector I ran the multimeter over it and there was a short! I desoldered everything before remembering that's how they are designed. You need to retract the ring to un-short the connector - duhhhhh.

Having worked with the Forest Service doing land reclamation, there's a lot more to this that's actually caused by the tree hug society. But I'll stay off the soap box
