The ‘01 Gibby ‘bird I bought recently came with a “Genuine” Gibson gig bag that it just fits into. Any idea where one might acquire one of these?

I'm not familiar with those, but another option is either the Gator ProGo or Icon soft case. I've had both and they work great. Extremely protective. You just have to remove the inside bottom cushion for the Thunderbird to fit.

I do a lot of local driving all day most every day here in the SF Bay Area, and I’d guess most people are getting thief license by ordering it out of the back of a magazine or something…

When I moved to CA, I had to do a driving test to get a license. It took 10 minutes, including meeting the examiner and getting results and doing the paperwork. It was a drive around the block. I asked if I was getting some abbreviated test as I had a Canadian license. No, that is the standard test; drive around the block without hitting anything.

For me, it was Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere. It’s one of the albums I bought a second copy of because the first one wore out. I was already a Buffalo Springfield fan. Zuma was another one I wore out.

Zuma is another great one, I love almost all his stuff but only have his early stuff, I plan on rectifying that situation when I get back to Mass next month.

I can second this recommendation. I still have the T-Bird hard case but no longer use it since I have the Gator bag.

We go to the AAA Auto Club for most things, except for license renewals when they actually want to make sure you can see.

We have to go in license renewals as well. I'm not sure they notice if we can see or not. Clearly a good many cannot.

I think we could get in trouble if we pronounce it like Cheech or Fred Sanford's neighbor: Sexame Street. Kind of takes on a different vibe with a Hispanic accent. More like some street adults can get arrested at.

I have one of these and will probably use it for the Eppi I just got, since I now have 2 Gibby birds I’d like another Gibson case that fits it. I think I found one locally, so no shipping!

The ‘21 NR has more compared to the shorty which is the one I have with me right now. That’s not surprising given the neck pickup position on the shorty. I need to have the ‘21 and ‘13 together in the same place and AB them to make an accurate comparison. Which I haven’t really done. @BklynKen should come to the GTG and compare them!

I can do that later today with my entire Gibby/Eppi line up (2012 Reverse, 2021 NR, 2015 DeCola, 2017 VP, 2012 Goth). Who’s the Brightest Bass in the Bunch should be a fun test.

I vote for the "MY OTHER WIFE IS A BASS PLAYER" t-shirt.

You'll also have to make sure they both have the same strings, etc., for an accurate comparison.

Thanks Ken. I’ve been looking at them, including Apogee. I’ll check out the Teisco. My most recent iPad, which is what I’ll have to use, is USB C.

I'm not Marshall, but if you want dead simple, the Apogee Jam things are that. You plug your guitar cable into one end and the other end plugs into your iPad. Any app that can record will take the signal. Apple's GarageBand app for iPad is free, though I found it very awkward to use when I was trying to help my friend with his iPad. The Mac version is less awkward, but usable. YMMV of course.

I have both as well, but I much prefer the Icon over the ProGo.

What do you prefer about the Icon? I've gotten used to it, but I prefer the pockets in the ProGo. The Thunderbird certainly fits better in the Icon because of the wider bottom.
