The camellia has already bloomed and faded. Daffodils and hyacinths have come and gone. Now we have columbine blooming and some other bulbs. Strawberries are blooming and setting fruit. The cherry bloomed in a big way this spring. Redbuds are doing their thing, with blossoms poking out of the bark like they do on those trees. The roses are growing but not setting buds just yet. Now it's all about maple pollen, which makes my nose unhappy and coats the car with yellow dust. We can tell time out here, at least roughly, by what's blooming. There's almost always something in bloom, with only about December and January without flowers. Living here is a joy. I suppose there are other places where there are flowers year 'round, too, but we have such an ongoing cycle that it's perfect.
I love trees and flowers and the garden.
