Thunderbird Club

I have a quiet day at home this Tuesday, had to take Latifa to the Vet for an echocardiogram early which left me with some time to myself. I went ahead and soldered in a new .047 oil filled cap, added some new strap pins and changed the RotoSounds out for these Nickel Rounds from SIT. Love, love, love how they sound with the bass!

Pretty much together and sorted - what great bass this one is!

I hope Latifa got good results, and if not, at least a solid plan to help going forward.
Congrats on the SITs. I've not tried the Fusions, but do love the their Power Wounds. Bright for NPS. I have them on the '64 and '62 Jazz. I need to try the Fusions and their flats which GP really likes.

Those of you who use overdrive, what do you run, and where in your chain? That includes running distortion pedals as overdrives (the ones that you reasonably can)... A couple guys in another club are huge fans of running an MBD2 as an overdrive.
I love my Genzler 4 On The Floor, which has four slightly different flavors. It's first in the signal chain, just before my trusty Phase 90, to the tuner, to the head with the BBE Sonic stomp in the loop. I don't always use a little grit, but love it either way. I don't presume that's the best order, but works fine for me.

I must have missed the NBD post for the BaCH! Lull pickup? Which series is the BaCH?

I'd prolly confuse the crap outta most guitarists on "Takin' Care". I sing it in A. C's too high for me. If they kicked it off in C, it'd be one helluva long intro 'cos I ain't about to bust my old vocal cords.
we got a guy who sings Born on the Bayou in C instead of E…works surprisingly well with the low open E for run ups….

When I was working 6 nights/week, I had more range, both up and down, but these days I'm not playing even 6 nights a month and my vocal range(and other things;))have shrunk.

+1 for the 4 on the floor. I'm finding it easy to dial in exactly what I need. It's second in the chain after the B9 pedal, but I never use both at the same time.

I kept intending to ask how you were getting long with it. I love mine and can't imagine being without it. I like that you don't have to get into breakup to get a sound. But when pushed it sounds good and not fake like so many peddles seem to sound. I almost always use the SVT (gear 3), but split the rest of the time between G1 (B15) and G4 (Acoustic). Just depends on the bass I'm using. It's one of those "always on" peddles for me.

I got the Bird earlier this year and it sat for awhile before I took it on as a project, getting the pickup wasn't easy and I doubt there will be any more unless I buy a Lull bass with them installed in it.

I don't use pedals a lot. In a rock situation, I usually have the gain set so that I get dirt when I dig in.
In my R&B band I need a "fuzz" sound for the bass break in "Oh What a Night" and in DJB we have a tune that calls for cranking up the intensity in a few sections.
In both cases, the 4 on the Floor is a definite improvement over the Big Muff it replaced.
I need to put felt washer under the knobs though - sometime I move them when I hit the switch.
