Thunderbird Club

I don't use pedals a lot. In a rock situation, I usually have the gain set so that I get dirt when I dig in.
In my R&B band I need a "fuzz" sound for the bass break in "Oh What a Night" and in DJB we have a tune that calls for cranking up the intensity in a few sections.
In both cases, the 4 on the Floor is a definite improvement over the Big Muff it replaced.
I need to put felt washer under the knobs though - sometime I move them when I hit the switch.
I would say easily more than half of the time I'm not getting into the anything more than very mild breakup. My one beef is I would like to change gears with my foot and going from 1 to 3 is a pain. Going from 1 to 4 or 4 to 1 is no problem. I'm thinking of some kind of rubber strip to put on top of that knob to grip the foot better.

You need a roadie.

The face you make at 47 when you finally got the T-shirt you wanted when you were 21 (when I discovered Max Webster...).

Those of you who use overdrive, what do you run, and where in your chain? That includes running distortion pedals as overdrives (the ones that you reasonably can)... A couple guys in another club are huge fans of running an MBD2 as an overdrive.

I currently use Digitech Tone Driver in conjuction with Boss Line Selector LS-2 so when the overdrive is on the LS-2 blends the dry signal in too. In the dry loop I have a low pass filter so there's no dry signal above the 400hz in the mix when the overdrive is on. 3 pedals for one sound but with that I don't have to stress if the drive eats the low end or not. And it's only the LS-2 I have to operate.
With that system almost any guitar overdrive sounds and works fine with the bass. At the moment I like the Tone Driver, the "morph" knob is an easy EQ to dial a sound for different basses.

It's right after the octaver and envelope filter and before the Ibanez Smash Box distortion.20230628_195234.jpg 20230628_195247.jpg

Unfortunately no, but I bet Grady would enjoy the job.
He would be useless. Too many people. Which means his job/mission would be to visit and give/get affection.

He did used to love to be helpful and carry things around till he was about 13. When we would come in, if we had a bag of something we would give him one and he would love to carry it in the house or to where we were going. At times he would get a little carried away and just like wandering around carrying the bag. I've even got pic of him carrying a mop around. Not that he used it in any helpful way. He liked to go get the mail and carry that in as well.
