Thunderbird Club

Old, old, new. The VP is easy to spot because some of you can see the headstock from the West Coast.
Really needs a tug bar.

Why? I get the idea of a tug bar for those who play by thumb. Otherwise it's unnecessary. When I had my custom PG made, I specifically told them NOT to drill for the tug bar-which is now on my Epi EB-0, but as a thumb rest. Tweetchie zone.

I’m absolutely no fan of high school knucklehead, idiot, boys behaving juvenile humor. I hate it. I like clever comedians, adult language (so some swearing is fine just not as a crutch), and humor that requires me to actually be intelligent. Again clever (and dark, preferably)…
 I like my humor dark-like my beer.

Completely agree. I don't need the dark part, but like when they make you think by taking an ordinary occurrence and pointing out something funny or absurd.

There’s my Thunderbird collection for TT.

‘95 Gibby ‘bird
‘01 Gibby ‘bird
‘22 VP (black)
‘17 VP (white)

Big shout out to @Engle for the really cool 3ply TRC with silver logo on the white VP, the single ply black PG and TRC on the black VP, as well as the 3ply with silver logo set on the ‘01 ‘bird.

Gaffigan is a good example, he’s clever, will use adult language but yet rarely swears. He’s almost family friendly.

In general I prefer R to PG anything.

Thanks man - nice to see them installed! Those 3 ply TRCs look great on the basses.
I'm going to make one for my VP now:D

So the tone is in the purple silks,

On my white VP pictured above, the purple silks are not the ones you’re thinking of. (Except the G)

They are the TI PowerBass SS round core rounds. I had an old set with a broken G that I put on the white VP when I got it and what a surprise, they feel perfect and sound great! The G is a .045 GHS flat I think.

Hipshot are a common option. Others may have other options, but anything with hipshot I have is nice.

Are you having issues with the stock tuners not keeping tune? Just curious. Both of my VPs tune and hold just fine. One out of 8 is a little rough feeling when turning, but still works fine. It's preference thing, but I would hate to see you spend money on something that's actually working--money that can go for a used VP at a crazy price like above.

The A string tuner is rattling and the plating on the E string is bubbling.

Yes it is, except I now have 2 VPs, when I only wanted 1. What's the problem with that? I'm trying to reduce basses, not increase. I'm up to 20, up from 16 last year :help:

Trying to hold at 3, am sitting at 4, as I'm trying to declutter in general. I've had to pass on two birds I would love to have.

That headstock dove and crashed, making a big hole in New Mexico. SHIELD is trying to figure out what Asgardian entity it belongs to, so don't be surprised when the black SUVs show up.

"The tone is in the purple silks." There is no "These are not the purple silks you're looking for." Your Jedi mind tricks won't work on us!
