Yeah, I really can't either, but that one sure looks awfully nice.I don’t think i’ll ever go that route. But who knows.

That's a really nice story about the two of them. Sorry to hear about your friend Lou's passing. What intrigues me is each musicians life-long dedication to their discipline balanced with their day to day lives. My friends Lou and Nancy were a life-long couple, 1st & 2nd bass chair in the KC symphony - 'were' because Lou passed away early this year. I've known them since the mid '70s and it's hard to believe Lou is gone. There's a Fellini film about a symphonic orchestra. I'll have to watch it again - it's been years.
666!
I'm waiting for 668: Neighbor of the Beast.666!

For me - the best part of attending a masterful performance is visually studying the participants and wondering about their individual lives. Maybe you don't feel that way, but ever since I first attended a classical symphonic performance - I can't stop but think about each player and what their life could be like. I am/was very close to two classical symphonic performers so I know both sides. It's what draws me to the arts/music - it's what's going on inside ones essence/spirit to do something creative - something above and beyond the ordinary.
The lead violinist is amazing! Damn I wish I could play with such accuracy, authority and deftness of expression!

I couldnt find a black one so I took one I had to a powder coater near me. Only cost me $20 because they waited to do mine when they had a larger order for the same color and didnt charge me a setup fee. I thought it turned out pretty good.

Mozart in the Jungle. There was a a tv series based on it on 1 of the streaming platforms. The author had a rather disastrous marriage to Bill Nye the Science Guy.I enjoy going to the symphony. Not true of everyone I'm sure, but there was a book out several years ago by a lady who played in symphonies professionally for years. I also read an interview of her. The short of it was that behind the scenes there was a lot shenanigans going on more akin to rock musicians than most would ever imagine. Like in Hollywood, one way to get (better) work was often a horizontal affair and just a lot of free love going on with all the corresponding drama. Maybe that was just the good looking ones! I don't recall seeing what she looked like. It was a somewhat interesting look behind the curtain from her experience of doing it for a living for a really long time. Again, likely not true of all, just her experience.
Hopefully those days are gone. (Speaking as the father of a university level symphony bassist)I enjoy going to the symphony. I need to update this photo. The Black NR on the right was adopted by Marshall, and 6 others didn’t make it in the picture, ran out of stands. Not shown - Spector RexBird, FrankenGoth, Acacia Pink NR, Dingwall DBird, NR VP, NR ThunderCaster.
Bakers dozen seems to have died out here, locally anyway.Thunderbird Thursday family photo (a bakers dozen)…
