Now that actually sucks - I really like Anchor - he oldest "craft" beer in America.... it was my 'house beer' for years. The label change had little to do with it - I personally liked the new image. What the Japanese company Sapporo and the rise of the trend of "craft beers" did to the brand otherwise had more to do with its demise.

so they haven't been on my radar for 20 years, but I can get beck's and heinekin and bass and stella so I didn't miss them

After Anchor was acquired by Sapporo, workers spoke out about what they described as inadequate pay and unfair working conditions, and voted to unionize in 2019.

How does that work? You freeze the caps, one at a time and when the crackling stops, you have found the offender? That is pretty cool. My inner geek wants to know how that works, because the mechanics (electronics?) of it are not obvious at all to me.

When did they start? There was a local beer in NYC in the early and mid 1980s called New Amsterdam. I don't think it exists any more. Which means that Anchor could have been the oldest if New Amsterdam was gone. Now somebody else is oldest.

OK, 127 years has anything I can think of beat by a long shot. I wonder how they survived Prohibition.

I will sincerely miss Anchor (though the rebranding of the packaging was dumb), I had their Christmas beer every year.

About the only two things I miss from my time out East...

Nah, Yuengling is expanding. Recently opened a brewery in TX.
Edit: Yuengling is about the only lager I'll drink.

Word is they're bringing it to California sometime in the near future, I first heard back in 2020 it was supposed to reach the coast in 2021, but nothing yet.

Love the dark faded edges on that looks awesome! You have inspired me to break out the Steel leather... Haven't yet used it with my t bird. What settings do you like with it??

IIRC the oldest still operating company in the world is a winery in Germany. I think it’s something like 1500 years old.

I drank New Amsterdam in college in the early 80's. Great beer! I searched it recently online and came up empty.

You'll need to fill the rout with some thin wood and glue it in and be sure to notch it to let the wire pass out to the control cavity. Then some stiff foam blocks to raise it a bit further, the pickups are very thin like this SD.

You may have to open up the rout in the PG too, the fit around mine was very tight.

You can explain it to me when I see you. I know Lollar has some kind of shim available…

A lot of those beers from that era seem to be gone. Like Pete's Wicked Ale.
