Thunderbird Club

Will always be great memories from last weekend.

The powersteels definitely brightened up the 2015. A good cleaning, oiled the finger board, made sure the ball ends were straight :p , and didn’t mess up Marshall’s setup. I left intonation for tomorrow.

When I turn a VP into a 64 IV, I’ll take your suggestion on powerwounds.
Thanks
Will you refinish it or leave it black? I was going to refinish it if I had kept it. Instead, the fretless 'bird will get the color love.

Yes, and I have a set of SD Custom Shop pickups that are supposed to be copies of 64's.
Which '64 though. QC was a little less precise, meaning those were probably all different. As long as they sound good, it doesn't much matter. More blasphemy from the Basement of Bad Ideas.

Frank's new Joe Bonamassa Sig Firebird, have to say, this is a freakin' cool guitar! I love the single pickup, different headstock (from standard Epi), banjo tuners, and unique burst masking. If I could only play it!

Didn't get any rain, but it's about 65 here right now, might make it to 75 later, perfect dress wearing weather!

This guy!

Ya he is pretty loveable! And now I hear his voice when I read his posts:laugh:

Re the Rick Turner - if it is an Alembic prototype, it must have had a different bridge. Those Badass IIs weren't available in the 70's.

although I believe that may be the original (before the II that was designed specifically as a direct drop in for FSOs) Leo Quan Badass, the II was indeed available then as my 79 Gretsch had/has one from the factory….
