I used to be in the middle in terms of age in my work group. After 1 transfer and 2 retirements, I’m the oldest. While I can retire from my current job in 3 years, I’d have to immediately turn around and get another job.

I retired at 55. Best move I ever made, probably added 10 years to my life.

Different kind of Bronco, but who knows. It's Gen 1 (one before that?), that seems to be the more recent fancy. But for a while people were wanting the later version like OJ was in. Can't figure that one either.

Yes it is. I've heard tell of putting a clear pick guard on NR in some parts.... Would look good there were the joint not so noticable.

I've been hunting, fishing, camping, 4 wheeling with this for the last 6 years, it has been a great truck and goes anywhere it's pointed ... with Toyota reliability.

But I'd trade it, plus cash for a 1st generation Bronco like this without thinking twice. Back in the day, they went anywhere a CJ would go, at least out here in Arizona.

Call me OJ, lol, but OJ's was the later 2nd gen version.

Truck Update: Truck is back from the second dealer who would do the work. Everything seems good now. They found no additional issues needing attention (at times rare for some shops and dealerships). They replaced the water pump (also covered under warranty!) and the oil pump which I added since they were all handy after the front was removed. Total charges were $4,348--but, $3,108 was covered by the ACS warranty, leaving me with $1,500 for what I added (a high vol oil pump and labor), oil, filter, coolant, shop, diagnostic, tax and other items I knew were not covered. For what was done, I'm thrilled with what I had to pay. I knew it would be expensive given the whole front of the engine had to come off.

Here's how it's often done to make it easier to work on. This isn't mine and have no idea if they did it this way.

It’s not totally finished, still dialing in pickup height, intonation and stuff. But it’s together and it’s really fun, very authoritative. I had this pickup (Dark Star) in a Squier Precision and it just sounds bigger here, idk.

It feels and looks to me like a ‘70’s workhorse type of bass, lol.


Shout out to Rosser for the body. Everything went smoothly, neck holes matched up.

Warmoth for the neck, roasted maple is my new crush, lol, so smooth.

Hipshot hardware. Love the tuners, licensed. Weird thing about the bridge is I can’t get my .050 hex key to work. That’s what Hipshot says to use.

Guard came from a dude in Idaho on Reverb, blank.

Knobs are cheapo that I buy from Tayda or something when I build pedals.

Schaller strap locks.

When it get all dialed in I’ll put on a new set of strings and take it outside for a proper photo shoot.

Excellent build! Very cool pickup, bet it sounds huge in that mahogany body. Haven’t had a chance to try out a roasted maple neck yet, but I hear they feel and look great. Enjoy the new bass.
