I really love my NR 22 pickup's. I favour the bridge on balance for a really cool pokey funky tone. Would love to get one in a 'Musicman' kinda placement on my Jag bass though instead of the jazz pup! This is mega tempting to go on a DIY mission now they have released these

I had an Ibanez Roadster RS900 where I had a T-Bird pickup in that position. Worked very well.

A bit of a Jennifer Anniston thing going on in the bottom pick. That and the other singer guitarist ought to get you a lot of gigs. John Michael won't be happy. The winery crowd will eat it up.

I just switched to Duckduckgo. No ads. I'm start a gradual move over probably for everything.

Another step towards FenderBird #3: (mexican) Fender neck just came in.
Hipshot Supertone bridge already ordered, should be in next week. One more thing before bringing all this to the tech: getting the proper Hipshot Keys.

Interesting proposal for you Scott: Take one of your VPs and see how the NR pickups sound in the nearly correct/original pickup locations of a VP. Or you can just buy another VP to do that to!

And here they are from the Gibson site. And I checked as recently as last Saturday for any news. It doesn't look like they distinguish between bridge and neck.

I'm going to order a vintage one direct from Gibson. Im hoping George can help me install it in the BaCH when I go down for my soldering lesson.

This is so awesome of Gibson to finally be offering these.

Just ordered two of the vintage Alnico V chrome ones. These may end up in my '22 VP or in my first '01 Thunderbird (not the "natural" '01 one I just bought, since that has actual Thunderbuckers, they will stay with that one). Since I have Lollars in the '01 and my '95, I may pull them out of the '01 in favor of these new genuine Gibson pickups and sell the Lollars, even though the Lollars ARE awesome. OR, maybe I'll have to get another Thunderbird to put them in!

I also like the idea of putting them in the VP, which (as was said a few posts ago), puts them very close the the positions they were meant for. So many choices….

Chuck, go for it! A Tbird pup in that position would be a killer bass! Think stingray on steroids or even a Warwick Streamer…

the beauty of trying it out is that it can always be undone….woild probably always add some neck pup if I had a choice….this way, I'd be forced to rely on the bridge pup only…..have hard time believing a honking bucker like that would have a problem delivering in that position……besides, that PG has meaning and I'd rather see it on a Bird han in some drawer….

Here's one for you.... I'm really digging the Mike Lull big Bird I picked up recently. So much so that I'm considering routing up a jazz bass I have.

My wife bought me a MIM Jazz cuz "I didn't have a Jazz bass" but I just never seem to get along with J's (that's why I didn't have one). I'd love to make it a bass I actually want to play. Anybody got any experience routing in some TBird pickups in a J?
