Amazing show last night! At least 500 people, we had great FOH and played two 55 minute sets. I'm dog tired this morning, very happy with how it went.

You guys sounded great! and you're a damn good bass player! Loved that T-bird tone...

Very tight band with no messing around between tunes.

My wife and I really enjoyed the setlists, we're looking forward to the Halloween gig at 7 Cedars.

The ES335 was perfect for Eddies Mississippi Delta born sound. He was a finger picker and really got it to chime when needed, but it had a warm, rich tone.

Finished the setup on the Pro IV this morning. Bridge is easy to setup and intonation is dead on.

Loving the Power Wound strings. Smoother than other rounds and respond well to the active eq. Can be thumpy or bright. Nice choice.

I agree, and one of the reasons GAS got the better of me when I bought this. IMHO, it's just plain sexy.

They have a big (non-muddy) sound with great mids and more highs than most NPS. Great string and can be found very reasonably priced.

Yikes! Besides not sounding at all like a thunderbird (not after a TBird sound on this bass so thats ok with me) what else did you not like?

I've never played one, but what really bothers me aesthetically is the J pickup in the wide humbucker cutout in the pickguard. I dislike it even more than NO pickup in there.

Agree. That Jazz pickup really looks out of place there.
Fortunately it's an easy fix. Drop an EMG35 size humbucker with a coil split option in its place and you get your Tbird aesthetics back and retain your Jazz bass sound or flip a coil switch and you have a full humbucker on tap.

I could see dropping in two Guild RI Darkstar's which would deliver some thunder. The reverse hs makes more sense if a B, so BEAD would work for me as I don't play 5'rs.

These are Novak Darkstars as the Guild's are for narrower spacing and this bass has a Fender J neck.

Several people have modified these basses to good effect. The guy I bought the blue one from years ago was planning to install Thunderbuckers in his until his wife got pregnant and he was selling off gear, which is why I bought his.

Definitely looks like a good mod platform. And have Irv make a proper pickguard for it.

it is! great singer too.

He was a neighbor of ours a few years back, our kids grew up together.

His band back then was Big Bambu.
