I get this V - my opinion of our recent drummer is still pending. It's hard to find people who "get it" and also have the chops to achieve what they 'get'. TSC's have a very "trial by fire" 3 set 30 song gig in a week from tomorrow and at this point I can only hope for the best. His 1st show with us at Winters' a couple weeks ago was a bit rough... and Kirstin has been unable to attend our last two rehearsals, so one more rehearsal before the show will hopefully cement some rough edges... Oh well... we'll do the best we can for now and concentrate of the future afterwards.

Sorry about the guitar player, that'll be disappointing. Got anyone in the wings?
Those pickups, I wonder how they compare with the TB+ on my 2013 CP?

IIRC V has 21NR pups in her Betty Page VP bird. To my ears they are a broader spectrum pickup than the TB+ pickups. A bit more top end and every bit as much bottom if not more as well. I would think they would do fantastic in the VP and 2012/13 CP pickup positions and offer a bit more on the top and bottom than you currently have. Would it be worth the $250 upgrade? That's up to you.

lacking how? crappy solos? doesn't remember the material?…you mentioned your ex singer going off the you know what but what happened to your old guitarist? great player, great tone….

That was the original wiring in the old farmhouse we lived in in northwest Wisconsin. The wiring was still in place but disconnected by the people we bought the house from.

Not sure if it's been covered here but cases for our birds are always a problem, expensive, difficult to find, poor fit etc. I just bought the $149.00 Gator Thunderbird case from Sweetwater and I really like it. Smaller and lighter than both my Gibson and older Epi case. The Gator is quite a bit slimmer and narrower yet the bass is angled so the tuners don't hit the back of the case, at least 1" from the end of the headstock to the case wall and nicely form fitted. I would not recommend it for flying or being manhandled by a road crew but for being transported to rehearsal and shows in you own vehicle I highly recommend this case. Makes for easier storage as well.

What's the inside length? The 67NR is just a hair over 51".

I spent $250 on the bass originally. That would bring it up around what I should've paid for it! Maybe after the new job is landed...

I like them a lot, I've had lots of Birds with TB Plus pickups in them but have only really liked them in my '06 Studio, they sound quite nice in it, likely the combination of set neck and solid body contribute to that. The 2021 NR pups are worlds better for what I'm doing, better articulation of notes throughout, if I couldn't get Lulls these would be my next choice.
