The one I tried was a 2021 VP. I'll look at the 2017.

Crappy solos, yes, bum notes, yes. Doesn't remember the material, yes. Constant equipment issues, yes. Worse is that she just doesn't grasp a "bigger picture" and understand what playing in a group really means, what we bassists understand as "serving the song" as opposed to greasing one's ego. We had a bit of a row about this a few weeks back at rehearsal, we're playing Bryan Adams "Summer of 69" and, like most pop songs it builds and just sounds bigger as you are playing the outro, on the bass it pedals between D and A, the keys and guitar playing chords along with some very simple single held notes on a second guitar as an overdub on the record. At rehearsal as we were doing this out of the clear blue we were treated to 1:30 of a bad Eddie Van Halen thing, completely inappropriate and when we finished she was upset that we questioned her on it. Utterly clueless. Anyway, sorry for the rant, bands, we all know how they go sometimes.

Most likely they increased the size. My case came with a 2018 IV. The VP upper horn has a slightly different shape and won't fit and is a couple inches too long. Exterior shot is, left to right, Epi triangular, Gator, old Epi rectangular (2010 Pro IV). The photo with my finger is the Epi IV.
Identical. Is there more than one factory in Indonesia?

My '17 VP is 50"
Epi tapered HSC also fits my '64 with two fingers space at the hs tip. The VP Pro is longer - I can barely fit my pinky in the space at the hs tip.

Oh man - really sorry you have to go through that. Sounds like there's no path for making it work with that person. Even one of those issues are problematic. Hope you can find someone who can fit in better.
and that's just it….we're kinda going through the same thing…when one says "you're hired" it better not just be for the chops….as you know, working someone in can be very labor intensive and to have to sh1t can them in the end sux….prolly one of the biggest reasons why the band thing is such a pain….from my experience, being a side guy is an excellent (not ideal) alternative if playing out regularly is what you want…..
I thought Epi only used one Samick factory in Indonesia.

Really hate to hear that.I've had them in my Epiphone for some time now, I much prefer them to the stock ones.
Meanwhile it was a toasty 87 degrees in Bremerton today, we hit it hard, but I can tell our guitarist just doesn't have all the chops to really make this go..........
They moved the neck out on the VP, which probably accounts for most of the extra length vs the original. How much longer is the headstock?

It's true, but when you get lucky and have a combination that clicks - you just have to be thankful for as long as it lasts and take advantage if it.

From the top of the nut - 11" ('64 II) to 11-1/4" VP
I play with a brilliant guitarist that can be difficult to work with at times. I have learned to understand where he is coming from and not take everything personally.
