It makes me happy to not see Gibson TBirds for sale from this sight because then I'd have to question everything I've ever bought off eBay or Craigslist.
There are Epiphones though.

Clearly a replica of a bass that sells for about $2500. I really doubt that if the end product was delivered it would look like the pictures.

It is an acquired taste for sure. I used to HATE the look of NR's but they have grown on me. I have always loved the look of a Reverse Bird tho.
Guess I just never acquired the taste. No offense to anyone here, I know there are plenty of NR lovers here, but for myself they just look odd and unattractive. I feel the same about Jazz bases too, IMO they just don't look right.

I think Non Reverses are so cool, Scott is a complete natural with all of his, I'm not as graceful so Reverses are my thang.
even if it a decent bass, you will need to upgrade the electronics and hardware. Next, you need to worry about long term build quality and then, there is no resale value. Think you are better off with an epiphone myself
Do non-reverses have less neck dive than reverse ones?
Couldn't tell you since I've never experienced any neck dive with any of my TBirds.
The non-reverse looks simultaneously retro *and* modern (think The Jetsons), whereas the reverse is timelessly modern and streamlined like a shark.

I adjusted my strap length accordingly so my NR's hung at the same height as my Reverses, and never had any issues.

As a complete Cro-Magnon, I stick to reverses.
So the band I've been working with recently just released their debut EP. Recorded all the bass tracks direct in using the Greco T-II and Swing 66s.

Yeah, I agree about being reminded of the Jetsons. Oddly, I don't like seeing the NR upright, but do like it horizontal. Fortunately I'll never have the choice, since I'm sure they won't make a left-handed one anyway. I do feel lucky as hell every time I see my regular Thunderbird.
Because I don't need one and a Mike Lull would be really expensive.
I'm lucky enough to have a real left-handed Gibson Thunderbird.
