I’m thinking that creamy white IS the color. Maybe better known as antique white? It definitely is the same under the PG on mine. Since I have a pure white Eppi, this is kinda a nice change, not to mention it’s a (I think) a rare color. I do t think the poly on the Eppi will ever change.

Gibson calls it "Classic White", I actually like it very much anymore, better than Epi's "Alpine White".

I am starting to get my bits and pieces together for the '64 VP. What I am missing and can't find is a router template that is the correct size for Probucker 760s (same size as the SD Custom Shop pickups I am using). Anyone know where I can get one?
I definitely need to find a routine template too. But I'm pretty set on going 5 string. They're different sizes in the 4s and 5s right?

...it won't... ever change. :)

Another tech question.
Can someone measure the raised center block on a modern Gibson? and tell me what that is, please.
I have a crazy idea.

When you say modern I've a 2013 and a 2022 but the newer one is a false-y, it's not a thru neck just a cosmetic raised section. Measured at approximately midway between the end of the fingerboards and the rear two bridge posts:
The 2013 is .168"/4.34mm;
The 2022 is .130"/3.32mm.
I eyeballed the midpoint and cannot claim to have measured in the exact same spot with both the Imperial and Metric verniers but it's gonna be close

This is quite kind of you.

What I looking to see is if I can fit a Gibson replacement 2 piece offered by Philadelphia Luthiers.
It would require my tech and his handy work to position both the bridge and tail piece in their proper places for proper intonation.
From the way I see it.
New holes would need to be drilled for the bridge posts providing that they stay inside the raised center piece.
The existing holes I would just fill or have plugged.
But there should be plenty of clearance to do such a thing if the posts don’t measure outside of the raised center piece.
I know. Sounds wack.
And don’t know if my explanation makes any sense at all on top of it.

I’m sure this idea will be found pretty laughable by most.
But as I said, it’s just an idea.

It can all happen - things shouldn't be that far off so overlap is possible. If not, visually minimizing holes no longer needed should be do-able with finesse.

Found this online:

Bartolini T4 Thunderbird Bass Pickup Template

I could swear that the TB+ in the Gibson Studio 4 and 5 strings were the exact same size. Maybe someone can confirm.

I made my own on my router table using a trim ring as the guide. I could duplicate it. Sending you a PM.
