Thunderbird Club

I remember many years ago I had em on a Precision. From what I’ve heard and some people have said here, as you said Marshall, they aren’t the same as they used to be.
But. The ones I tried were bright and open sounding. Not dark at all.
But way to high in tension.
Then I discovered EBCF’s.
Will always be my preferred flat.
But I still can’t seem to get an answer from Dave about what flats he has on one of his black VP’s.
SIT Power Flats. I thought I already answered that some time ago. Sorry.

P.S. EBCF on my CP and Dano.

Well, my guess is you’d have to start with an original ‘64 IV that’s been fairly unplayed with what ever strings came on it out of the shop.

Through an SVT.
Not an SVT. Maybe a Bassman. I don't think there was such a thing as an SVT until sometime in 1969 or 1970. There is your dose of pedantry for the day.

Summer's done here in Seattle, the 8 month rainy season has commenced, so Noir.

That's a great picture.

Devilish girl you are. :woot::smug:

I thinks you're going out for a drink or two with Frank and I during your GTG visit.............Then you can wake up surrounded by half eaten cold fried chicken :woot:

My poor Sunn and MM stacks are getting lonely. You should have warned me that I would become a B-100r junkie.

My plan was to steer you in that direction, and had a feeling it would be a tone you’d dig.

But you're lucky to have the other rigs.
Sometimes options are a good thing.

I know, was just throwing out the SVT thing because I like a TBird through one.
My Thunderbirds, including the EPIs, through the SVT VR and Berg NV610 are glorious. With the SVT and Mesa rigs and stainless rounds, I can get my preferred tones without playing around changing out pickups, except for the BaCH Artec (which really isn’t bad).

Ampeg tone is pretty special. I understand why my girlfriend Nikki plays Thunderbirds through SVTs.

It’s a love/hate thing for sure

It was a mid 70s 'Blue Line' I had 80-83. I have since become aware that they sound best cranked, which I couldn't do where we played. I'd have been better served-in that room-by my Kasino. Which I was completely used to AFA settings.
