Will do, this conference came up quick. It would be great to get together. Would love to hear your band.Next time you're on this side of the mountains let me know a little in advance - we could have gotten together for dinner![]()
So has anyone here made a move with p'ups concerning the Classic Pro? I've got the T-Bucker+ flavor come before me, and although I like the pretty hefty push of lowish mids I'm hearing in the rowdy, out of control punk trio I've been jamming with, I'm wondering if something a with little broader palette is available that would still give me that muscle I've been hearing.
This is in part because I've just let go of a Fender/mutt P-Bass yesterday, and I have the CP and the Heckinhecker left.
The 'Hecker is essentially a Rickie, sound-wise, and that's the end of that.
The 'Bird is just a little dark sounding overall, though it definitely can reach into the brighter range. But that's not its character really.
I do tend to like clean, punchy, not excessively bright sounds. Gibson's humbucker sound is definitely characteristic, and I dig it. But I'm missing my old clean, powerful punch.
Just leaving this here for throwing around...
I am shopping for strings, so yeah there's that. Trying that before I make a move I might regret.

For those of you in Australia (or anyone willing to pay the shipping)
And would keep houses secured and grounded in Fl during Hurricanes.TBH, if I needed that kind of 'oomph', I'd just as soon have a Kasino 254(400W>4x15). I already have the left part; just need the(powered)module on the right. And, no pesky[expensive]tubes to "mess" with. Built-in tilt-back casters.

So, common type stuff.I got a deal on a half dozen NIB 1964 'birds, one in each primary and secondary color - only $15K each. Unfortunately while setting them up, each one took its first chance to run to the edge of the bench and dive head first onto the giant pillow I keep there, snapping its neck and peppering me with wooden shrapnel. So now I'm out $90K for the 'birds and $5k in medical bills. On the plus side, I've sworn off bass and taken percussion back up, which is cheaper and mostly less dangerous. Mostly. Occasional stagedivers use djembes as trampolines, and as they inevitably break their necks (peppering me with bone shrapnel), my 'bird PTSD kicks in.
Really glad you're better, man!
This. Killer sound. Ah, to have a van and dumb friends. And would keep houses secured and grounded in Fl during Hurricanes.

A properly tuned 18 can be a mind opener.I really need to get at least one ultra-light cabinet, the two 115lb cabs aren't fun...
I do have some ampeg pf cabs and the sv210 and they work well with the PF-50T,
but I need something for my Genz-Benz 9.2 shuttle, the head is only 7lbs.. the Yorkville xc808 is awesome with it, but way too heavy.
and I need to get over my phobia of speakers larger than 10" the 8x8 has me spoiled for sound...

Well, lessee... I have a refrigerator dolly(long story);I don't have stairs, at home or any place we play; getting it into the gigmobile-if it'll fit(?)-by myself would prolly kill me; most of the places we play, I can use my 22# Rumble 100(some places my 18# R40); so, no.Refrigerator dolly, w/strap and stair climbers?
There are so many choices. It really depends on what you want your tone to be. And we all hear things a little differently. So has anyone here made a move with p'ups concerning the Classic Pro?
