Fenderbird Friday

The funniest-to me-is #7. Both of our guitarists are 'jazz cats'(we could do a gig of all jazz/standards/bossa novas but there's no call for it), and do songs-by choice-in Eb. It don't matter to me, I just move the bass slightly to my right.:smug:

Sometimes everything comes together and the total is greater than the sum of it's parts. The P is all Warmoth with Fender '63 PUP, the headstock is matching.
The J is also Warmoth with a Musikraft roasted neck and Dingwall 4way rotary switch.
These are 2 of the best/most thunderous examples of their genre I've ever heard, and I'm proud to own them. However, they won't displace my Thunderbirds/Fenderbirds for gigging.
The black '66J which I am the second owner of, and have had since '83 is meh. I also have a meh '58P NOS CS I commissioned in '08. They are more typical of the generic Fender (IMO).

yeah, I might have to deal with heavy cabs.....
A good compromise option if you want a sealed cab is a used Berg NV610 or NV610T. They’re under 100 lbs and sound better than a fridge. I’m not a big guy, but I can manage getting it up and down stairs (I even did it wearing a cast on my ankle) and loading it in and out of the car. They were popular for several years and used ones do come up once in awhile.

Lots of fun the last couple of days getting to know the Carbine. What an amp! Thanks Jeff! I’m a very happy camper. I put it in the Gator rack case George passed along to me. I’m ordering a rack mount Furman from SW today.

I’ve found a couple of the distinct voicings I really like. I’m also ordering the foot switch to be able to combine a couple of the voicings. Very fun.

Man. This thing gets loud!

An awesome sounding cab for sure.

That's so great to hear Marshall!
And it truly is a beast.
It went to the right person :)
