Thunderbird Club

NAD Bugera 150w plexi clone. I just picked this up locally for 300 bucks. I plan on using it and leaving it at rehearsal as I don't like leaving my Hiwatts, Marshalls, Oranges where I can't see them. I've only spent five minutes with it but holy crap it sounds great! I'll get a video up soon. Sure sounds better than the Fender Rumble 500 head I've been using! Very interesting! Looking forward to hearing it.

Interesting about the 60's NR necks possibly being a a little more slim. One day I've got to play one even if never owning one.
60s Nonreverse Thunderbird necks are all over the map in thickness, Some I own are thin others really beefy all have 1.5" nut. My '68 thinks it's a Telecaster Bass. :D

Don't think you can go wrong at that price and for what you want if for. Seems like good move.

@shifty

That looks like someone has already made some mods (you?). I assume the finger prints are a theft recovery measure. :laugh:

My guess is that it is a Epi Pro IV refinished, new knobs and new pickups or at least new pickup covers.
It should also have a battery box on the back.

If you don’t like the pickups in it and or the preamp, there are other pickup options. At the moment the best ‘bang for buck’ seem to be the chrome vintage pickups that Gibson are selling. That’s my thought from reading the opinion of TBirders that have them. Someone may weigh in on that.
