I do! It made sense for school PA systems, etc., but not for much else. Once I understood why they used it, I was just glad they didn't go for 250V or something!Bogen, Bozak, Urei…..remember all that 70 Volt system crap?……![]()

Were I headed to Germany, I'd consider not returning to the U.S., I love it there so much. The people, the food, the countryside![]()
I used to install 70V systems. The old stuff that was just meant for paging was dreadful when you played music through it. The newer gear for distributed audio actually sounds good.Bogen, Bozak, Urei…..remember all that 70 Volt system crap?……![]()

well, it was based on telephony, from the 600Ohm (actually 500 in phones) ref Z to the 3kc BW....YIKES...Yep. Like telephones, very bandwidth limited (in this case, I think mainly by transformers and cheap speakers). And not really meant to be that loud.
Pink Floyd played Pompeii centuries after it was buried. Try not to be playing (or there, period) when another city gets buried.
Florida Man take:
That would have been really exciting on the train ride to the top.
hmmm.....remembering those years and kids..dunno..I do! It made sense for school PA systems, etc., but not for much else. Once I understood why they used it, I was just glad they didn't go for 250V or something!

The first pic sure puts humanity into perspective. We are tiny, tiny dots on a big blue planet. (Actually not as big as others, but I prefer not to live on the others.)
You you really want to ask that kind of question to someone who can do that? What did you do to piss it off?
You got to watch that happen? Amazing. Oh, I just saw that you left. Pele was pissed. Or Vulcan. Or Hephaestus. Or the great Prince of Darkness, Lucas, who has infested the earth now and caused the magic smoke to escape.
And Ohioans knock West Virginia...Texans knock FL....Californians TX...funny stuff....
We used to install 30 watt 70v horns in industrial environments. Loud and nasty!Yep. Like telephones, very bandwidth limited (in this case, I think mainly by transformers and cheap speakers). And not really meant to be that loud.
say no more…Delco left……Lucas right…You got to watch that happen? Amazing. Oh, I just saw that you left. Pele was pissed. Or Vulcan. Or Hephaestus. Or the great Prince of Darkness, Lucas, who has infested the earth now and caused the magic smoke to escape.
Lucas Electric parts failing again? You got to watch that happen? Amazing. Oh, I just saw that you left. Pele was pissed. Or Vulcan. Or Hephaestus. Or the great Prince of Darkness, Lucas, who has infested the earth now and caused the magic smoke to escape.

Do Lucas parts ever not fail? I have had enough British machinery to expect the worst, and I'm never disappointed.Lucas Electric parts failing again?
