On the subject we were discussing a few(?)pages back, namely, damage.

I've had the 67NR since Spring of 73. I don't remember it having any significant marks on it when I got it. Most of its life with me from 73-83, was playing 6 nights a week. From 2/75 to 6/80 we were on a very tight stage with only one way in(from 'my' end). So we had to enter in order. I stood directly in front of my 63 Bassman amp-standing on end-with my keester almost hitting the amp. In front of me was my mic stand, a baritone sax on a stand that put it at playing level; on the floor was another sax(alto)and flute stand. [when I played sax or flute, the keyboard player played Kee 'bass']. Unbeknownst to me(I didn't feel it happening), the lower bout of the 'Bird would hit the key guard on the back of the bari sax chewing away at the Honduran mahogany. At least the sax key was protected. (The headstock damage happened on a wedding reception gig we played when some little hellions ran through the band 'area' [no stage, just on the floor in the corner] and tripped over my cable. The parents took no responsibility for the little bastards.:banghead: (I was told to not 'push' the issue as the parents were, shall we say, "connected":rage:)

And on a completely unrelated topic :eyebrow:, my fridge(not Ampeg)took a :poop:. Freezer works, but refrigerator side doesn't frigerate. Having it repaired-parts should arrive Friday. Costing less than 1/2 what a new, much smaller 'fridge' would cost. Sucks. Big time. Hadda toss some food(hate to waste food). Aaaarrrrggh!:thumbsdown::banghead:

I hate wasting food too.

Lowes had their big sale last month. We replaced our 25 year old Costco chest freezer in the garage with an upright. It’s really nice. And it even has a light! But I doubt we’ll get anywhere close to the service we got from the old Costco one. They just don’t make things that last any more. It is a lot more energy efficient though.

Our chest freezer was one my parents bought when I was a kid. It lasted at least 55 years.

Sounds like your car is already very close to what mine will be. The difference is that you have the cage to stiffen the noodle tub to deal with horsepower and actual brakes, while mine is only going to be a tub with a front subframe. That's the point of the aftermarket frame under it. 500 horsepower and about the same torque would turn it into a pretzel otherwise. It's all a tradeoff anyway. I like going fast, but my wife is less enthusiastic about noise, vibration, and harshness. The car has to be civilized enough to be tolerable by my wife or I won't be able to drive it as much as needs to happen. That's what happens when a knuckle dragger like me marries a refined woman.
