I'm putting together this guitar and I need you guys' input on what bridge to put on there.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can see what the intention is with this one, she's a rip-snorting punk rock monster.

So, wrap around bridge or Tune-o-matic and stop bar?

I don't care for the badass style wrap around, but a lightning bar style would be my pick.

BUT if the choice is just those two, I'd do the tuna-matic

So far, the usual reaction is something like Wow, a Thunderbird! You play a Thunderbird! It is some odd form of immediate credibility or a badge of weirdness or something. Until I show up with one, most people have never seen one.

I have gotten "Is that a 7ender?"(pause)"No, it's a good bass". Then I explain in understandable terms. If it's a horn player, I equate it to Selmer vs Conn. If it's a non-musician, I let 'em know there are other brands and that I prefer Gibsons/Epiphones.

I go through phases of which geetar is hanging on the wall, If I got a call to fill in, no matter the genre, I'd use what was on the wall.

last week would have been the Florida flamingo fretless reverse thunderbird on bass geetar, and the trashcaster esquire telecaster on treble geetar...

this week would be the 1976 Ibanbacker ric copy (fretted) on base geetar, and the pink lester paulson BFG for treble geetar...

although the ric has developed a bug in the wiring on the bridge pickup, I don't really need that pickup.... I'll fix it by next week....

It looks like the wrap around bridge has more intonation travel, so I'd go with that.

I have a question for the folks with speaker connection experience. I’m used to the standard tabs on the back of the speaker where you solder the wires. But, the EVs I’m installing have a spring loaded tube. I’m concerned that this type of connector would come loose from the vibration of 2 15” speakers. Any suggestions? I could solder the wires on the backside where the wires go to the cone…

I've never had a problem with those, or heard of any issues.

I’ve got 3 different basses, and they all do something different.
I don’t favor one over the other.

They should be fine. I've seen that used on 15s with no problems.
