Thunderbird Club

New Cab Day!
She sounds sweet with the Thunderfunk head. Unfortunately the Musicman HD150 head I was going to use with this cab is acting up so the next challenge will be to find a nice low watt tube head or maybe a warm sounding 300ish watt SS or hybrid head to go with the Epifani 212 cab.

So cool. You are very fortunate indeed. I loved playing original material. Especially rewarding when people would love the song and ask who did it.

TSC sets are 1/2 originals and climbing. BG is all covers but Cherie is introducing a couple of things she's written lately. I make no bones about learning and performing our version of well written classic songs. Like this one that we're started rehearsing - always liked the song and Miss Jones.

That's great. Similar here, in 2 bands, with members ranging between 43 and 62, both are all originals. Neither band expects to be paid, we just want to get out and do it as much as possible, in the limited number of places there are to do it and support others that are doing it too. AND, despite the frustration that sometimes comes with it, I frequently thank the universe I have what I have (music related as well as all of it).

I have never been in a cover band. I am positive I would be a significantly better and more versatile player if I had the experience of having to learn dozens of songs and play 1-3 hour sets.
Yup. I'm thrilled if I get a free beer.

Give it a try. And whatever you do don't stop believing....

The high-strung part would concern me and I would take it a little at a time without fully committing, if possible and not stringing them along. He could be uptight around people he doesn't know or was having a bad week. But if the dude is always high-strung, I don't think I could deal with that. I can get along with most people, but there are limits generally around serious arrogance and drama queens. But he could mellow as things mesh and you can accept him with open arms.....

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.:smug:
That was troll worthy :roflmao:

Yeah we'll see how things progress. I am assuredly type A personality, so he wont have to worry about not knowing my opinion on things

Especially Journey…

Yeah, I get it. Our gigging-and gear-situations are very different. For example, if we're using my PA rig, it'll take me a minimum of 4 trips, using a cart, to get all* my [stuff] into the venue. Even if we use the guitarist's PA, it'll still take ~3.
*trip 1-PA(JBL EON ONE)**, powered mixer(Yamaha EMX512), table(folding)for mixer; trip 2-bass amp, duffel w/ mic, cables, other accessories; trip 3-mic stand, music stand(hafta read some [stuff]), amp stand, CD player/CDs (for break music)in small bag; trip 4-Stool(doesn't fold)cos my knees won't hold up for 3 hours.

Except for one, all of our gigs are at least 6 miles from the house. We have no public transit to speak of and, as I've said, no place in this area has backline or PA.

**JBL EON ONE(the 3 pieces are 'the tower' for highs-I can use just the front one(spkrs)or one or both extensions)

Yeah, so different here, where we're usually discouraged from using our own gear. A few gigs where I needed an amp, my 112 GK combo worked great. One time I used the B-15 just because. But this is why I had that custom preamp pedal made with a GK 800RB tone section.

I'd love to not hafta 'cart' all that gear and make it all in one trip.
I half lied about PA's. Most of the places we play have a PA-for announcements: "Farquhar party of 3.5, yer table is ready", or "Will the owner of the White Camry..." and there's a mad scramble of the 6-7 white Camry owners.

I gotta say I absolutely love your Super 800.

The white zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the red zone.

My son has a white Camry. Cars are appliances to him for now.
