Thunderbird Club

So.............
After a little discussion I have a couple of potential weekend dates to put out there for the sake of conversation. Whatever we decide, I'll likely take the week surrounding off to be able to spend time with those that may choose to arrive early/stay late.
For July, the last weekend, 7/26,27, 28.
For August 8/9,10,11.
There is much to see here and if you haven't visited before you may wish to add a few days so there's enough time to enjoy the visit.
For those interested, please drop me a PM to start.

Thank you,
V

Both choices work for me. :)

t

his bass lines never have a repetitive pattern to them so, he either plonks along to the rhythm track when laying down his part meaning it's never the same live, or has the part written out by the arranger….regardless and with all due respect, to me he sounds more like the least accomplished of the guitarists delegated to bass duties…purely speculation on my part of course
Barry?

My kid just graduated from URI with a degree in Conservation Science and Political Science, and she's moving out your way in May. I may have to go for a isit...

whoever payed bass on the SNF soundtrack..
Maurice on most of the BG songs up to that era but he progressively stopped after SNF songs were recorded.
Funny but he was quite regarded as a McCartneyesq melodic style player in the late 60s and some of his 70s stuff is iconic, Stayin Alive, You Should be Dancing. But he would also have to fit in with Barry's vision for the song (I think). Barry being the principal song writer by then. Maurice had stopped playing by or after 1979 evidently.

I admire that the Bee Gees were able to start writing hits for multiple other people after the SNF stuff had died down and they were 'on the nose'. Shows up adaptability and resourcefulness, even if most of them still sounded a bit "BeeGee"

It would be wonderful to meet you in person, Roger, plenty of basses to play too!
