Yah, I've repaired numerous guitar cables over the years. Once repaired, every one regardless of age is still operational. But... I just bought another of the cheap & nasty 'wireless' systems to replace the POS MIC early purchase of one from a couple of years ago. Pretty much for around the same (cheap) price, but through a "reputable" guitar-world mega-seller (take your guess... one with "water" in their name...) this time, so at least once it craps out I have a better chance of getting a replacement... maybe.

Interested in the audible difference from .047 to .022 (and there's a commonly used value in between that I can't recall) in a circuit with buckers and 500kΩ pots - can anyone enlighten me? Think I read that the value of the cap affects how much the treble turns down - but I wondered if that refers to the bandwidth, the dB-level, or Q-center parameters? Sounds ('scuse the pun) like sumpink @Chucky Stiletti @Engle or @TBird1958 probably can explain for me

I found some two-point bridge/tailpiece sets from a Chinese brand called Guyker on Amazon. They came with locking bridge posts and screws for the tailpiece - but I used longer and slightly fatter screws to get it really secure. It was about £34 and I didn't really need the bridge but the locking posts with the tailpiece cost more than that anywhere else so I didn't care!

I don't think you can just get the tailpiece....

I've always used .047 Caps, so I don't have a comparison to .022, @GBassNorth is who we want to hear from. :)

I can get it for a really good (great) price. $300+ less then brand new. All other detailed photos look like a brand new bass. Truss rod and electronics all reported to work. Peel Plastic still on PU’s and other parts.
It’s advertised as a 7 ply, neck through Ebony Epiphone Thunderbird 60s Bass and has a white pickguard. Very sharp bass!
I have fixed stripped wood screws many times. I think hardwood dowels glued in and redrilled would fix this. Would you risk buy and repair? It is sold as-is but if the bass is not as described I can use their satisfaction guarantee.

We bounced along for years on here and that wasn’t an issue. Then about a year or so ago the problem started showing up in posts. It should be an easy fix. And with the price with tax now at around $800 for a new one, $300 is a great price. Go for it!

SW warranties them for the first two years regardless of the manufacturer’s warranty. SW’s customer service is first rate. Not sure what you bought. But last I looked, they were selling the XVive brand, which are pretty good. I’ve had a set for a few years now and not had any issues.

I'd get it, dowel up, & redrill.

Or better yet, id drill out the holes for threaded inserts, & use machine thread screws. Perhaps more stable in long run (not that just into wood isnt secure if done properly).

If the finish in front of the tailpiece is scratched up, nothing a little black paint pen cant fix if anything. Wont be 100%, but it wont be visible on first glance until you look close/different light

There's nothing wrong with the "tailpiece". The wood, however...
It looks very similar to what happened with my first Epi Embassy. Talked to SW and they promptly shipped me a second one, which was perfect(except for having-ugh!-rounds on it). Put on some flats. Easy fix.;)
AFA the bass in question? If the price is right and you wanna do the repair, go for it.
