I picked a new Mustang at a music store recently. They really captured the feel and look of the old ones. I resisted - don't need another short scale.

looking sh1t hot! congrats Dude!
The JMJ Mustang is a really nice bass. But man. They’ve really gone up in price. If looking at used ones, beware some left the factory in 2018(?) with bridge/saddle issues. Fender, with JMJ’s personal intervention, offered a repair and resolved the issue. But something to be aware of.I’ve secretly always wanted a Mustang
I've always used .047 Caps, so I don't have a comparison to .022, @GBassNorth is who we want to hear from.![]()

I will get one at some point. I like shorties and the JMJ sounds awesome!
Here’s my ‘16 MIM PJ:

Hey all, I had a question that I hope I can find some help with here. I have been searching for someplace to buy a "claw" tailpiece that comes on the Epiphone Tbird, Newport, and Embassy. I have done a bunch of searching but I can't find any way to buy this tailpiece. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

So badass!Out of the shop and this Eagle has landed.
Still working out a custom pick guard.
More to come on that.

This is the JMJ.Good to know.
But I’d prefer the old school model with contours and its original split pick up.
But that’s way out of my price range
I made an offer and will see if he takes it. I was really just looking for pickups for my TBird Pro and saw this and thought dang I could fix that for the right price so we’ll see.Is this a “fixable” Thunderbird tail piece?

The seller said the bass is like new (dated 2023) but the tail piece was damaged during shipping? Reputable seller on a well known website.
I can get it for a really good (great) price. $300+ less then brand new. All other detailed photos look like a brand new bass. Truss rod and electronics all reported to work. Peel Plastic still on PU’s and other parts.
It’s advertised as a 7 ply, neck through Ebony Epiphone Thunderbird 60s Bass and has a white pickguard. Very sharp bass!
I have fixed stripped wood screws many times. I think hardwood dowels glued in and redrilled would fix this. Would you risk buy and repair? It is sold as-is but if the bass is not as described I can use their satisfaction guarantee.
My Orville also has 250K pots, so I'm going to change those.I had just a couple minutes to check my work this AM before leaving, the difference was quite apparent, much better high end and overall as well.
M m m m m madness, madnessNow my next insane plan is wanting to put a horseshoe Ric pick up in my Precision![]()
Sorry I wasn't paying attention to what it was called. My thought at the time was there is no need to buy an old one, when they make new replicas like that.Which one? The JMJ is a very close replica of the ‘68 I had back in the day.
6ft cord?I'm very particular about cables. I buy 2or3 of the cheapest cables I can find. Then if one craps out, I gots another and I just toss the first one in the gar-bage.
AFA 'signal loss', I'm within 5' of the amp. How much am I gonna lose?
