Yup. Mild flurry at midnite-barely bothered the cat. One or two isolated 'booms' after that. Then I said eff it and crashed.

I wear sandals, mostly, when going out-doors, unless there's really inclement weather (rain and/or cold, neither of which are super common here), or if going to work (closed shoes required, I prefer steel toe boots because I'm pretty decent at being a clutz, and end up needing the extra protection).

The morons started firing stuff off at 6:30-ish, and my cat ran for a dark corner somewhere. :(

Then something sounding like a cannon was set off a couple of times, and he ran for a different hiding spot.

Even worse, they lay off for a while, he finally comes out of hiding, and like 5 mins later they start up with the noise again :rage::rage:

Oh. Forgot to mention-steel toed Wellingtons with non-slip soles whenever driving. I 'wrote 'em off' on my taxes too.

Lots of fireworks from 11:50 until around 12:20 or so, enough to put the cat under the bed, but as soon as it quieted down he came out and was ok. Then a few random late night fireworks, but all and all not terrible.

Thanks! Jeff - Happy New Year! If you want to go "official" - that would be 5:25pm midwest time. So I'll be officially older while playing at Winters' at 3:25pm. (downbeat at 3) It's clear/sunny out today after a week of grey dampness - should be beautiful on the coast. :)

We escaped to friends place in the Berkeley Hill (muffled fireworks in the distance) and returned after midnight to 4th of July, the NYE edition ~ Mona wasn't happy. We called the cops and they actually showed up - apparently many neighbors also called. Pretty much died down after that and a doggy sedative helped Mona crash at the foot of our bed.
