Looking into this last night , not much real info found on the TB pickups. Greco and Ibanez seemed to get their pickups from a company called Maxon that was acquired by another Japanese company Fujigen in 1981. No telling what they used to build the TB pickups as the Japanese back then were not afraid to spend on Alnico.

Would you say the Japanese were in the forefront of pickup technology back in the day?

Of the top of my head, I've seen Burny (Fernandes), ESP in a t-bird style, Kaminari, and I want to say there were some Ibanez ones too, early to mid 70s?

I especially like the Firebird and Camaros before the rear window wrapped around and the taillights changed from short to long, or, in the case of Camaro’s, from double dot to the single rectangle(?) wrap around(?). Not sure what to call it… either way, the changes made to both in 1974 was what I didn’t care for.

‘74 bumper regs made cars safer. And uglier.

I get a kick out of Aussie stuff that means something different in the U.S. We wear our sloppy joes and our U.S bass comrades eat em he he. Should I go their with fanny uh hum cough cough. Or the classic, "I'm rooting for ya" he he

Over the years I've seen many T-birds with mended hs's. I considered buying a black one on eBay that was a Gen1 with a Fender neck, from Florida. Said Jaco played it... maybe he did. I didn't buy it.

24-25°F at load-in tomorrow and 28-29°F at load-out. Taking the bare minimum - no pedalboard, one Rumble 100, one bass, case with stands, etc. And a cajon for someone. Minimum trips in the cold.

A very warm 11 here this morning. Dusting of snow to deal with as well. Warmer is better.
