I am not a T-bird pickup expert but do you have some funky rails on the fretless (second from right) or is that the way they look with stock covers removed? My only frame of reference is my 2015, which as you have noted before, is not standard issue pups.

Every time I go in, I look and think. If a couple of personal goals get accomplished, perhaps that will be the reward to myself.

I need to advertise for a guitar player as it's never going anywhere with my sometime jamming buddy - whenever we've sat down to play he's brought his entire family and it turns into a production with lunch and all the rest, when all I want to do is play music.

I've never had to advertise before so I have no idea what is reasonable to put in an advert. Obviously musical interests. Is it okay to say what guitar amps/pedals you really like? Should I say what kit I have?

Probably a good idea to get a list of current meds.

Those are Lace Alumitones. They are not even remotely stock.

Barbarism and This Charming Man are both great to play with the right drummer! Along with Derek Forbes, Andy Rourke is one of the eighties great bassline writers.

Peter Hook did some awesome stuff.

Yes, you are spot on as to their roots. But I was speaking more about bands and artists breaking in the 21st century.

I grew up in Minnesota and remember the "Minneapolis sound" (Husker Du, Replacements, Trip Shakespeare and Prince). It is a very hip and artistic place. But I don't know how many bands they've turned out since then (and I am not talking arena rock level, either).

Oh, man. I'm a HUGE Husker Du fan. Love the Replacements, too.

I wasn't born in Seattle (Eastern WA.) but having lived here since 1961, the west coast especially Seattle and Portland were very isolated, travel was not so easy, Vancouver, B.C. seemed remote and hadn't developed it's reputation as the "Hollywood" of Canada yet. For much of the '70s and '80s this was a bit of a backwater part of the country. Happily, a lot of the area's senic beauty is untouched, I love living here.

And your governor seems REALLY cool.

Oh yes, I recall you mentioning them before with another build of yours. For your fretless, did you use their "Alumi bass bar"? I know that they make P and J style but don't see any T-bird specific models on their site. Was it a drop in or did it require any mod to pup cavity?

Bob Mould has been making decent music for the past 40 years, with Sugar and more recent projects. I think I saw where the Replacements played together for the first time in decades, at Coachella or one of the big festivals. They were one of those bands that should have hit it bigger but imploded as they were breaking. Paul Westerberg was a great song writer on a lot of their early stuff.

The Replacements were an awesome bar band. There was a "reunion" recently, but it was hardly the Replacements. Bob is dead and I think the only original members are Paul and Tommy.

Yeah, Bob Mould has been doing pretty great stuff consistently. I love Workbook and BSOR and the Sugar stuff.
